EPIC BLACK METAL ALBUM OF ‘90s

Year 1999: Europe was taken by storm by black metal, the leading force in extreme music. Actually, black metal has been mutating its primary grim and satanic force since the mid-90s and words such as symphonic, epic and melodic started appearing in the bands' descriptions.

Unexpectedly from Italy came a force capable of uniting all these inputs: in summer, under the Last Episode inprint, Stormlord released their debut album "Supreme Art Of War". The eight tracks of the record united the symphonism of bands such as Dimmu Borgir or Bal-Sagoth to melodies coming from epic and power metal and the record became a hot-topic in the European press in a couple of months.

In songs such as "Where My Spirit Forever Shall Be" or "War (The Supreme Art)" Stormlord are able to create solid fantasy-themed hymns for an audience eager to experience sensations akin to Cradle Of Filth, Graveworm and Summoning, with lyrics bathed in fantasy worlds and myths.

Norwegian dissonant death black metal unit Zustand Null is hailing from Oslo and formed in 2009 by Max Engvik and Ion Solounias

Norwegian viking pagan black metal brigade NIFROST is set to release their new, long-awaited, full length album to the masses 
NIFROST already established its own remarkable identity built upon cold and ferocious sounds attack, intense melodies and charging guitars.
Combining unrelenting black metal atmosphere and vision from varying extreme metal genres with a apocalyptic twist of inspiration, careful listeners may just be able to identify themes from some of their stories, concepts and more…
The concept of their third album began with the title “Orkja”, which is the name of a mountain infamous for landslides that turned into murderous floods in the olden days of Jølster, on the wild and beautiful western coast of Norway.
Through these old stories, they found a spark of inspiration in approaching apocalyptic themes in a bigger or on smaller more personal-level picture, both physically and metaphorically.

When the band wrote the album “Orkja” in late 2018, they never knew how fitting these doomsday-themes would come to be in current times. The seven songs that comprise “Orkja”, each have its own connection to the end of things, and to the possibility of new beginnings.

Since their previous albums "Mass Grave" and "Death Siege" - both released via Season of Mist - Hierophant paved their way into the extreme metal scene in Europe, with a relentless and furious approach.

Following the conquest of the most prestigious stages (Hellfest, MetalDays,
Party.San), the Death Siege ranks pushed the limit to the extreme and ultimately crafted the first live album in the band's career.
Recorded at Hellfest 2023, "Gateway to the Abyss" (released via Dusktone) is the feral representation of what Hierophant is about: Hatred, blood, nihility.
