DAY OF THE MASSACRA – the first ever official demo compilation by French death/thrash legend MASSACRA!
Contains the remastered “Nearer From Death”, “Final Holocaust” & “Legion Of Torture” demos, featuring extensive 24 pages booklet with tons of rare photos, picture comments and English & French interview by guitarist Jean-Marc Tristani!
Founded in 1986, France's leading death/thrash act MASSACRA released a series of nowadays much sought-after demos prior to gaining international success for such classic albums as “Enjoy The Violence” or “Signs Of The Decline”. Even before they released their debut album “Final Holocaust”, MASSACRA had managed to arrange North American and European shows completely DIY-style. Their aggressiveness, violent stage acting and rigorous work ethic established them at the forefront of the Euro death metal scene of the early 90's and now it is time to unleash MASSACRA's impressive catalogue again upon mankind in its definite versions created in close cooperation with the band's former guitarist Jean-Marc Tristani. Be prepared for brutal death/thrash that kills!!!
R
Unlike many bands which when they find a good melody repeat it over and over, Nokturnal Mortum use a skill of subtly varying the melody to create a progress of change and then after a while return to the initial melody. Brilliant keyboard work and the vocals are done just right. Return Of The Vampire Lord, one of the best black metal songs ever recorded ! Includes Death SS, Burzum & Graveland cover songs.
Re-issue, CD booklet 8 page stapled with PMS print, re-mastered specially for CD.
Returning with Nedstigning, their debut full-length, Gjendød walks further down the snow-covered path into history-minded obscurity. “Håpet Falmer” continues mysterious musicians K and KK’s stylistic fence-treading, balancing their cold, riff-based songwriting with unsettling moments of clattering discord and dime-turn rhythmic changes. The adrenal, savage black metal offered by Gjendød masterfully fuses these two disparate, but still wholly Norse black metal lineages
