One of the longest-running Swedish death metal bands, GRAVE has created a sound and style which has been an inspiration on a number extreme metal bands. The band started in 1986 under the name Corpse and changed it to Grave in 1988. Formed in 1986 by vocalist and guitarist Ola Lindgren, Jörgen Sandström ( ex-Entombed, ex-Candlemass (live), The Project Hate MCMXCIX,) on lead vocals and guitars and drummer Jens "Jensa" Paulsson. The band had particular success in the early 1990s, and their first four albums, Into the Grave, You'll Never See..., Soulless and Hating Life, cemented their reputation as one of Sweden's foremost death metal bands. In late 1993, GRAVE released the ‘...And Here I Die...Satisfied’, a limited edition EP featuring brand new, rare and remixed tracks encompassing the band's entire recording history. Designed to mark the end of an era for the outfit, the EP set the stage for the release of the trio's long-awaited third full-length offering. Complete booklet remake by RA Design (Possessed, Vio Lence, Varathron), including an interview by Pim Blankenstein with vocalist / guitarist Jörgen Sandström. Cover art by Axel Hermann (Asphyx, Morgoth, Unleashed).
Totally classic Death Metal masterpiece that influenced a whole generation of metalheads!
Full original 1991 debut album of GRAVE with liner notes by the band and updated artwork!
“One of the most influential of all Sweden's death metal bands” (according to Kerrang!), GRAVE return with 2006's vicious sonic assault, “As Rapture Comes”.
Continuing a tradition of genre-defining brilliance, their seventh full-length release delivers mountain-levelling hooks and devastating low frequency blows. Alongside Entombed, Dismember and Unleashed, GRAVE are considered to be pioneers of the distinguished Swedish Death Metal scene and have remained true to their musical roots and legacy throughout the years.
Formed under the moniker “Corpse” in 1986 and then changing to GRAVE in 1988, the band reached a legendary status within the underground scene of the late 80's/early 90's.
Morbid, tuned-down crushingly brutal yet catchy hymns combining irresistible groove and sheer violence became a trademark for the band which they never did completely lose like so many other veterans of the death metal movement.
Sweden's legendary death metal kings GRAVE "Endless Procession Of Souls": their savage, brutal and crushing studio album !
It hits like a ton of bricks thanks to its relentless speed, crushing groove, and unexpectedly rich clarity!
