Hailed as one of the leaders of the death-doom genre alongside My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost, Sweden's Katatonia have spent 25 years constantly evolving into the much-loved purveyor of dark progressive rock/metal they are today.

2016 marks not only the band's 25th anniversary, but also 10 years since the release of their highly regarded Peaceville album The Great Cold Distance.

Founding guitarist Anders Nystrom comments:

Katatonia took Dethroned & Uncrowned on the road in Europe for the first time in May 2014 as ‘Unplugged & Reworked’. The band presented an intimate acoustic evening
performing tracks from the album alongside atmospheric classics from their entire career, stripped and reworked. Each venue on the tour was carefully chosen for its unique atmosphere.

Sanctitude is a concert film recorded at one of these prestigious venues, in the stunning candle-lit setting of London’s Union Chapel, where they were joined on guitar & vocals by The Pineapple Thief frontman and songwriter Bruce Soord.

The 80 minute set features 17 songs across the albums The Great Cold Distance, Viva Emptiness, Brave Murder Day, Last Fair Deal Gone Down and of course, Dead End Kings / Dethroned & Uncrowned, including fan favourite ‘Teargas’.

The CD & DVD features the full 1 hour 20minute live concert of 17 tracks (79:59 - Audio: DVD-V: stereo 24/48 LPCM) with the DVD also containing the ‘Beyond The Chapel’ documentary with over 60 minutes of additional footage including brand new interviews with Anders Nystrom & Jonas Renkse plus unseen backstage clips. The 2 disc set is completed by being presented in deluxe media book packaging together with a 24 page booklet featuring exclusive photos from across

the European tour.

On vinyl for the first time, Katatonia's classic 1997 EP Sounds of Decay was recorded at Stockhom's Sunlight Studios and featured Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt on vocals.
Sounds of Decay was seen as a perfect companion piece to the band's sublime 1996 breakthrough album, Brave Murder Day (a masterpiece of hypnotic, melodic Doom Metal melancholy).
The EP is presented on 10" 100gm vinyl, includes the bonus track Untrue, and new liner notes from guitarist/founder member Anders Nystrom.

Last Fair Day Gone Night documents Katatonia, the Swedish dark Rock/Metal masters, at the Koko in London during a series of special celebratory shows to mark the band's 20th anniversary.

The album contains a comprehensive set of band classics - including the Last Fair Deal Gone Down album in its entirety - and is issued on triple heavyweight 180gm vinyl in a deluxe box that comes with an 8 page 12" book.

Founding members Anders Nyström & Jonas Renkse are joined by long-time drummer Daniel Liljekvist along with recent members - namely guitarist Per Eriksson and recently recruited bassist Niklas Sandin.
