It has been seven long years since MAYHEM released their fourth and latest full-length ‘Ordo ad Chao’. Rejuvenated by the recruitment of Teloch (of NIDINGR fame) in replacement of iconic guitarist / composer Blasphemer who left the fold in 2008, the spearhead of Black Metal is back stronger than ever before with a new album. ‘Esoteric Warfare’ demonstrates how perfectly Teloch has captured the essence and spirit of the Norwegian legend by linking the band back to its roots, while at the same time taking a step forward into the leading position of the genre instead of dwelling in nostalgia. ‘Esoteric Warfare’ is a full-scale assault of total dark savagery, where Attila's inhumane vocals are entirely based on a concept dealing with the esoteric experimentations of the nuclear powers during the cold war.

The booklet for the 25th Anniversary release of Live in Leipzig contains liner notes and recollections from band members Hellhammer and Necrobutcher, plus words from Metalion and more, as well as some rare images, sketches and letters surrounding the event. This edition also features the original iconic cover artwork from the album's first pressing in 1993. This is one of very few releases to feature this line-up - vocalist Dead committed suicide the year after the show, and guitarist Euronymous was killed in 1993

Pressed on 180g black vinyl, this is the first official release of recordings of the classic Mayhem line-up performing in Jessheim, Norway in 1990.

Live in Jessheim concludes Peaceville’s series of the legendary band's four recorded shows. Featuring the line-up of Euronymous, Dead, Hellhammer and Necrobutcher, this is one of only a handful of recordings featuring the Norwegian Black Metal quartet during arguably their most influential period, as they forged a truly unique sound (prior to going on to almost single-handedly inspire a whole scene).

This green vinyl edition of Live in Jessheim features audio taken from a new source. The release includes an 8 page booklet containing rare photos, extensive interviews with figures such as Snorre Ruch (Thorns, ex-Mayhem) and Maniac (ex-Mayhem), plus information on the events surrounding the show (which took place on 03/02/1990 and featured timeless Mayhem tracks, including Deathcrush, Funeral Fog and Freezing Moon).

Mayhem need no introduction. The legendary band has been a league of their own ever since their formation in the eighties. “Wolf’s Lair Abyss” was originally released in 1997 and is now proudly being re-issued on all formats via Soulseller Records. Thus, the newest offering “Daemon” is unto itself. It’s not the next chapter but rather the next tome in Mayhem’s authoritative oeuvre. Composed and decomposed with the same lineup—Necrobutcher (bass), Hellhammer (drums), Attila Csihar (vocals), Teloch (guitars), and Ghul (guitars)—that handled “Esoteric Warfare” and performed “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas” in its entirety over the last few years, “Daemon” also isn’t a retrofit of classic songs like “Freezing Moon,” “Pagan Fears,” or “Buried by Time and Dust.” That’s what the live album, “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive” (2016), was for. “Daemon” is a chance for change, for new hells to be envisioned and offered.

‘Out from the Dark’ features a rare & ferocious rehearsal from the Mayhem archive which was recorded back in 1989 and is a chance to hear tracks from the quartet’s early years in all their raw and brutal glory, including classics such as ‘Freezing Moon’, ‘Funeral Fog’ & ‘Deathcrush’. The band would embark upon a serious of live shows in Norway and Germany the following year which would eventually go down in black metal legend, with those recordings also now immortalised.

This edition includes a booklet featuring rare and unseen band photos (plus extensive thoughts and recollections from Metalion and others associated with the event), plus a DVD featuring very rare footage of the show itself from close to the stage. Perfectly demonstrating the pure raw essence of Mayhem, the band surge through some  early classics from the Deathcrush release to tracks which would later feature on the band’s revered debut, De Mysteriis Dom. Sathanas.

The infamous MAYHEM return this year with an EP called “Atavistic Black Disorder / Kommando” that presents the band in a way that has never been heared before! The lords of darkness have dug deep and reflected their influences to create a musical odyssey that shows them multifaceted in several ways. For this goal, cover versions of bands like Discharge, Dead Kennedys, Rudimentary Peni and Ramones were chosen, which in typical MAYHEM manner impressively fit into their bursting and darkenened sound. Nevertheless, MAYHEM would not be MAYHEM, if this musical creation would do without own composed songs. In addition to named cover versions, a brand new track called “Voces Ab Alta” was recorded to continue the musical journey alongside previously released tracks “Black Glass Communion” and “Everlasting Dying Flame”, which were used as bonus tracks for the 2019 album “Daemon”. The EP comes as a 180g LP format which features a two-sided cover artwork and two-page insert, as well as a Ltd. CD Digipak with sleeve and 12-page booklet.

Mayhem’s ‘Life Eternal’ is a documentation of Attila Csihar’s first journey to Norway in 1993. Taken from tapes Attila made during the vocal recording session in Bergen, it features different vocal-styles at times, as well as the drum intro of ‘Funeral Fog’ that was cut from ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’. These 5 songs are taken from the recording session of 'De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas', but they are a different, rough studio mix.

While the songs would eventually appear on ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’, 'Life Eternal’ reveals how MAYHEM’s first full-length album became a foundational pillar for black metal.
These five rough mixes were recorded with original guitarist Øystein “Euronymous” Aarseth. Attila Csihar toils with different vocal takes, especially on “Pagan Fears”, which somehow sounds even more wicked than the final version. And while it was ultimately left on the cutting room floor, the pummeling drum flurry that opens this cut of “Funeral Fog” is vintage Hellhammer.
