I am halfway through the sooooo long song of the newest ‘Iconoclast Dream’ by UK doomers Pombagira, and mind you that is still over twenty-one minutes far in the track, and I am so tormented by those vocals! You simply cannot imagine how hard it is to believe that plastic fake scream, that wanna-be-evil voice or that bootlegged growling of the title or the rest of the lyrics. It just kills me because I was quite enthusiastic about their ’last effort’, but this over forty minute long song is nothing more than several ideas and re-used riffs and arrangements, sometimes quite good ones that allow the listener a break, I must admit. It just is like everything is hammered in place like a child does with missing or wrong pieces of a puzzle and a plastic sucked and chewed on tool. Musically not the best around, almost hurting, but this is a miss, a no-go… I have expected more for sure but they simply did not deliver.
