With Ørlog, SKÁLD bring ancient Nordic traditions back to life through ten compositions inspired by skaldic poetry and Norse mythology. The French trio creates an immersive and atmospheric form of folk music using Nordic fiddles, harps, lyres, horns, flutes and various traditional instruments, complemented by three lead vocalists and elaborate vocal arrangements.

The album explores shamanic prophecies, mythological figures and ancestral tales, moving between solemn passages and more delicate melodies before reaching the ominous atmosphere of its finale. Ørlog thus becomes a journey through memory, fate and origins.
