Bohemia's BRAN are a power-trio of ancient black metal might and majesty. To be sure, they exhibit the splendorous, spellbinding riff-sorcery so endemic to their country's black metal idiom, but instead of hypnotizing monochromaticism, BRAN's epic constructions are always unfolding, always blossoming with a strict sense of narrative flow, surprising and engaging at every turn. Indeed, their Odcházení debut is a march across rarefied lands, for not only does it retain palatably clear production, rendering their ruminations in their most powerful state, but there's a pronounced grounding in actual METAL here - but thankfully, without any goofy party posturing or "metal brotherhood" bollocks.
No, this is the sound of swords sharpened and chainmail donned, grim resolve as the battle approaches; BRAN see the struggle ahead, and they've created the bloodily majestic / majestically bloody map for it.

With a rejuvenated lineup that features erstwhile Beyond Man guitarist alongside vocalist/guitarist Lord Nathas, bassist &alt;, and drummer Ond, FUNERAL HARVEST's attack continues to be undeniably physical, but whereas a wobbly between hypnotic possession and demonic headbanging took hold prior, Redemptio races and rewinds from nearly chaotic violence to smoked-choked repose, creating a delirium that's impossible to resist.

Named after the promethean angels that sinned against God in the Apocrypha, GRIGORIEN was originally conceived in 2006 by Spedalsk and Benedictus as a tool for uncompromising hate propaganda and a call to violence against religion and in particular the Abrahamitic three. Starting in 2007, a demo was released every three years, and then, in 2015, came a split with Danish comrades Ligfaerd. Thereafter, silence...until now.
At long last, GRIGORIEN are set to release their full-length debut, Magtens Evangelium. With a lineup that presently includes vocals by Spedalsk (who also lends his voice to Witchcult), guitars and bass by Benedictus (who also plays bass in Witchcult and Ligfaerd), and drums by Geistaz (who has the solo project GEISTAZ'IKA), GRIGORIEN hereby encompass past, present, and future with their vintage black metal ultraviolence. Translated into English as "The Gospel of Power," Magtens Evangelium is framed as an imagined theatrical play, in which nine choirs - humans, angels, and seraphs - quarrel over the order of the world and their place in it, each castigating the others and declaring themselves favored by their creator, until the profane priestess Veridian settles the dispute and proclaims a new world order. More concretely, GRIGORIEN whip forth a fury that recalls 1996 in all its whiteout splendor: insane OTT speed, utterly scything guitars, orkish vokills, and a strive for abyssic oblivion. If such names invoked as Thy Primordial, Unlord, and especially Setherial fall on deaf ears, then likely Magtens Evangelium is not for you.

Which is an absolutist contemplation of darkness based on ancient medieval times and the forgotten sorcery that was once named. This new release does not leave aside the characteristic dark sound of Dungeon Synth or the dark lands created by Professor Tolkien, rather it properly incorporates them creating the perfect definition of "Dark Medieval Black Metal".

Originally hailing from Ecuador, WINTERSTORM belong to the mysterious (and prolific) Pure Raw Underground Black Metal Circle, which includes the esteemed likes of WAMPYRIC RITES, RÜNDGARD, Pyreficativm, Funeral Fullmoon, Mantiel 13th Temple, and Gryftigæn, among many others. In fact, WINTERSTORM drummer Lord Valtgryftåk himself is involved in current labelmates RÜNDGARD, Pyreficativm, 13th Temple, Mantiel, and Gryftigæn, and here is joined by equally prolific veterans Wampyric Strigoi (vocals/bass - also in DUNGEON STEEL and WAMPYRIC RITES) and guitarist Bifrous Nocturno

Valdivian raw black metal ambient, we find an exquisite set of melodies with classic structures from the dark glorious 90s. A very primitive sound but full of an elegant and furious feeling, inspired by the old pioneer hordes but with a rather characteristic personal touch orchestrated by sinister dark structures.
