"As you can hear, we were bad musicians - and downright horrible engineers. We knew virtually nothing about instruments and gear. Only that plugging a cheap microphone straight into the inputs of a Tascam 4-track lets us record sound, dry and unprocessed.
Although these demos must be rated far below the early Black Metal masterpieces released at that time, still there are qualities, most primitively captured, missing in today´s counterfeit bands. The atmosphere was dense, we were hungry and smelled blood, the mindset pure and dedicated. The primitive lyrics impulsively scribbled on paper at any time of the night, but from a musical perspective, listen to these samples and you will hear from the first amateurish moment on, we embodied a certain degree of individualism and originality. Like everyone else did back then.
Most importantly, even though we were simple-minded in our approach and starstruck by the sheer satanic genius showcased on the achievements of our colleagues in all parts of the world, still, when we realised something sounded like them, we immediately dropped the very part. The motivation and aim within Black Metal must be conformed and aligned to the sinister essence, the definition of Black Metal, but at all cost, each group´s art must be individual! Even if this means to fail terribly at various attempts. Yet every genuine failure is worth much more than the best copy!
Oldschool means daring, uncompromising, original. Only if the next generation remembers the origins and the values which nurtured this artform, there is a future. Otherwise, let us torch the bridges and burn down the stale copy of what once was."

For the first time, these 5 tapes (Ash Nazg …, lux devicta est, promo tape 2/94, Moonrise and In Hate & Sin) are compiled as a stand-alone 2LP / 2CD album, accompanied by extensive photo material and an in-depth interview, covering the period from the formative 1980s, over the conditions leading to the establishment of the band, up to the days when a deal for their debut Verwüstung/Invoke The Dark Age was signed.
The direct and unveiled nature of these recordings invites the listener to travel back in time, step into ABIGOR´s rehearsal cellar and experience the raw, youthful energy which shows a different side of the band than the successive recordings at Hörnix Studio.
The pressing and print quality make this double-album the ultimate memorial to the reckless bygone days not only of ABIGOR but also of Black Metal as a whole.
On 48 A5 pages respectively, the circumstances around each demo are treated individually.
After more than 30 years, the hands-on experiments of those simple, analogue times still work their magic!

1995 – 2025 / 30th anniversary release
In its original CD form, this has been ABIGOR´s most celebrated and best sold album, together with CRADLE OF FILTH´s debut heralding the start of Gothic Black Metal. Yet in stark contrast to the commercial traits, behind the well-implemented female vocals and tasteful keyboard additions lurks a backbone of Satanic Black Metal in its most radical form – by that, being a true product of the underground’s peak moment, when Black Metal reared its most ugly head in 1995.
In this regard, Nachthymnen is an almost solitary case, written by the reckless Austrian triumvirate at the age of 19 and 20, uniting beauty and wickedness, melancholic longing and an apocalyptic death drive. The most majestic album in the band’s history, capturing the essence of the fully blossoming 90s Black Metal scene at its turning point – the freedom and extremism of a scene which fell victim to a crisis of disorientation and mainstream corruption soon after. Nachthymnen may be one of the albums to blame for that, but remains fully innocent in its intention and execution. 9 hymns to the night, to demonic magic and the twilight kingdom.
This LP version in a glossy gatefold-sleeve for the first time delivers 1995 Hörnix sound perfectly transferred to vinyl, featuring a bonus CD with 1994/95 instrumental demo-rehearsals including early alternative versions, an extensive 32 page booklet, a poster and a brand-new master as download card as well.
