This split EP of rotten, melancholic & Vampyric Black Metal invokes a Star Shambler from those forbidden cosmic gulfs.
Although both entities are from the same shadow, Harvest returns with a track of ice cold, vile, sinister and raw Black Metal after three years of silence, once again spreading its addictive poison.
Drowning the Light reflects the more melancholic yet majestic side of this shadow, synth laden and hypnotizing, raw yet atmospheric Black Metal.
The title of this split was inspired by the 1935 short story "The Shambler from the Stars" by Robert Bloch, and delves into other Vampyric entities that are said to lurk beyond the stars, hidden in the moonlight or crawling through the angles between dimensions, bloodthirsty and decaying, only emerging to take the life force of the living before receding back from whence they came.

"Reawakened Truth from Shadow Realms of Melancholic Grandeur" is a split EP of raw, melancholic yet majestic Black Metal that brings together these two underground entities in a sonic manifestation of grand darkness and the Black Flame!
Nocturnal Deviancy opens with a decrepit piano piece and then strikes with Black Metal fury, followed by Drowning the Light's signature Black Metal melancholy and a dreamlike dungeon synth outro.

This is the very first Drowning the Light demo, recorded in 2003 and originally limited to 3 copies. It has never been released publicly, nor was it ever intended to be, as the re-recorded versions of the songs from the second demo and found on "The Longing" compilation are of much better quality, but after 20+ years and countless fake versions online (it has never leaked, only fools putting up entirely different music and lying by claiming it is this demo), it was time to embrace the primitive spark that ignited the flame that is DTL.
The audio on this CD was taken from one of the only tapes that exists, which itself had a lot of decay from the years as well as being poorly recorded in the first place, so there is some a skip or two, and some sound defects, so it is not a flaw in the CD but the recording itself. This one is for the diehard fans who wish to have a glimpse into the past. This is not for everyone.

This EP of dark majesty and melancholy is a journey through time and nightside dimensions. The Black Metal flame of "Violet Mercury" sets the world ablaze as the haunting synth-scapes of "Moonlit Sorcery" create waves of nostalgia from kingdoms forgotten by all but a few.

This EP is the spiritual successor to the "Paradise Slaves" EP, however instead of focusing on the herds delusions of "Paradise" this EP focuses on their blind grasp of "reality" using Plato's "Allegory of the Cave" as a point of reason but with a Setapophian twist on said allegory.
We live in a time of spiritual decay as civilization further erodes and humanity enslaves itself within that cave. When presented with the Black Flame burning bright, the weak close their eyes and grasp onto their mortal coil in fear because their whole reality is just an illusion and they are but slaves to it.
The sonic aspects of this EP are much like the burning light outside of the cave. For many it will sound like a wall of raw noise, putting the herd off and making them retreat to comfort (returning to the shackles of the cave). But for those who allow their ears to adjust, the harshness soon becomes something else - melody, truth and spirit hidden within!
