Un progetto nato nella Norvegia di metà anni ’90 ma che è non è mai riuscito ad ottenere la popolarità dei più celebri conterranei Emperor o dei contemporanei Cradle of Filth e che, dopo un album di successo come From Behind the Light, decide di scomparire per oltre sei anni, condannandosi all’oblio da parte dei più. Ma, quello che conta maggiormente, è che Wallachia sia ora ritornata ad essere una realtà attiva che, con Shunya, dimostra ancora una volta che da quell’angolo di Scandinavia molto è ancora lecito aspettarsi. Una produzione consigliata a tutti gli amanti di un black metal che sia sinfonico e melodico, senza però perdere la sua proverbiale aggressività. Non è la prima volta e infatti i pezzi della discografia dei francesi si contano con le dita di una sola mano, più un dito dell'altra! Lunghe composizioni dai toni doom, rinforzati dall'uso di tastiere che impongono un carattere spesso di tipo atmospheric e comunque fuso alle chitarre dagli accordi poderosi e dilatati. In questa alternanza di riff malinconici o di un granito grigio oltre ad inserirsi tastiere e synth, arriva anche la voce growl di Richard Loudin. At the centre of an infinite structure in perpetual deconstruction, "777 - Cosmosophy" represents the instinctive manifestation of human and obsolete conception of Time. Where the light feeds the darkness, where every second is the Eternity and sounds the death knell - the monumental work of the eccentric soul gets lost in a deep echo... and this echo is the sublime Sound of the Universe. A beautiful tragedy; a tragic beauty. Devastatingly restrained, the climactic movement in the monumental "777" trilogy represents the culmination of a rapturous evolutionary process.

"All Christianity Ends" is a brutally-focused reminder that while the infamous Finnish Black/Death Metal legends continue to evolve, develop and even 'refine' their hellish sound over recent full-lengths, the elemental building blocks of classic ARCHGOAT remain sequenced in their DNA.

An essential companion piece to "Worship the Eternal Darkness" and a natural continuation of 1993's "Angelcunt" EP, Ritual Butcherer (guitars/composition) and Lord Angelslayer (bass/vocals) here vomit forth with the magickal energy, raw guttural power and bowel-churning savagery to which we've become accustomed since the band’s 1989 formation.
