Conceived and executed by Vindsval, THE EYE's sole full-length explored the cruel mythos of Odinism and delved into a poetic worship of nature in its dark, repetitive compositions, foreshadowing its creator's later work with star-driven black magicians BLUT AUS NORD. THE EYE's final testament is a lost classic that has been found and elevated to its rightful place.

"Fuori dagli schemi: questo è Wallachia. Un progetto nato nella Norvegia di metà anni ’90 ma che è non è mai riuscito ad ottenere la popolarità dei più celebri conterranei Emperor o dei contemporanei Cradle of Filth e che, dopo un album di successo come From Behind the Light, decide di scomparire per oltre sei anni, condannandosi all’oblio da parte dei più. Ma, quello che conta maggiormente, è che Wallachia sia ora ritornata ad essere una realtà attiva che, con Shunya, dimostra ancora una volta che da quell’angolo di Scandinavia molto è ancora lecito aspettarsi. Una produzione consigliata a tutti gli amanti di un black metal che sia sinfonico e melodico, senza però perdere la sua proverbiale aggressività. Caratteristica assicurata in questo caso dalle ibridazioni death, con quel tocco sregolato e irriverente in più dato da qualche sperimentazione che, stavolta, ha pagato la scelta." "(...) Anche questa volta i Monolithe tinteggiano uno scenario immenso e decadente, attraverso una suite di 52'. Non è la prima volta e infatti i pezzi della discografia dei francesi si contano con le dita di una sola mano, più un dito dell'altra! Lunghe composizioni dai toni doom, rinforzati dall'uso di tastiere che impongono un carattere spesso di tipo atmospheric e comunque fuso alle chitarre dagli accordi poderosi e dilatati. In questa alternanza di riff malinconici o di un granito grigio oltre ad inserirsi tastiere e synth, arriva anche la voce growl di Richard Loudin.
