" Era da parecchio tempo che non usciva un prodotto del genere. O meglio, che non usciva così ben ideato. Se è vero che con il terzo album si raggiunge la giusta maturità per essere valutati in tutte le potenzialità, allora la one man band australiana degli Elysian Blaze è riuscita a dimostrare su questo “Blood Geometry” delle indiscusse capacità, solo accennate in passato. Numerose sono le band che diligentemente riescono a produrre buoni album di black/funeral doom metal, ma forse proprio su questo “Blood Geometry” gli Elysian Blaze sono riusciti a trovare delle piccole aperture stilistiche e soluzioni geniali. L’album è decisamente onirico, è scritto all’interno del cielo stellato, riserva a chi li sa trovare alcuni dei grandi misteri della vita e della morte. Misteri custoditi nelle profondità del cosmo. I brani sono talmente lunghi che in essi ogni tentativo si struttura stilistica si perde con il passare del tempo, ma per una volta la musica rimane unita, il filo conduttore non viene spezzato dal caos o dall’inettitudine dell’artista: tutto si fonde e scorre lentamente. Il mood è malinconico, una stretta al cuore costante e l’aura funerea rende ogni aspetto della musica estremamente sofferto. Eppure gli Elysian Blaze riescono a costruire alti momenti di musica estrema che spalancano le porte del vostro animo verso un senso di liberazione difficile da descrivere a parole. La produzione è underground: meglio così, si richiede all’ascoltatore uno sforzo in più nel cercare di non perdere ogni singola sfumatura di questa musica oscura come la materia che mantiene unito l’universo. Impalpabile, invisibile, ma fondamentale per permettere alla vita e alla distruzione di rincorrersi. Questa è la musica della band australiana: un abisso voluto dentro il quale si trova l’essenza più preziosa. Davvero ottimi sono le parti più palesemente sinfoniche, ma anche quelle atmosferiche trasmettono molta angoscia. La cover dell’album è lo specchio della quieta distruzione che si svolge inesorabile nei brani di “Blood Geometry”. La band a qualcuno sembrerà discreta e niente più, ma per chi saprà indagare le tenebre degli Elysian Blaze potrà aprirsi un mondo nuovo affascinante. Nella sua desolazione e disperazione. HATE FOREST's music can be described as grim, cold, aggressive and straightforward black metal, mostly very fast with low, distorted vocals and dark ambient elements.
The band's lyrics are heavily influenced by Scythian and Slavic legends, the mythology of H. P. Lovecraft, and the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche.
