Info : Sweden's MARDUK are not only one of the most long running and respected black metal acts out there, but also one of the most productive. Even fourteen albums into their storied career, the quartet have never ever delivered a weak album and never wavered from their path of utter blasphemy and misanthropic contempt. 2004's “Plague Angel” was the first release featuring current vocalist Mortuus (Funeral Mist, Triumphator) who played a pivotal role in MARDUK's reinvigoration after the departure of previous singer Legion. He brought a new level of vocal and lyrical intensity plus a frightening stage presence into the game catapulting the group to new heights. Now, it will finally be made available! “La Grande Danse Macabre” album (2001), which presents a more varied and darker approach compared to the Swedish black metal titans' usual blastbeat-driven full on assault. Created in close cooperation with the band, this re-release features remastered sound (done by bassist Devo Andersson), detailed liner notes, unpublished photos, revamped artwork by Death Wolf vocalist Maelstrom and bonus material on the CD version: a cover version of “Samhain” (originally by pre-DANZIG punk outfit SAMHAIN) and all three tracks from the “Obedience” EP (2000). Expect nothing but perfect extreme black metal pleasure!

“World Funeral” album (2003), which marked the last opus with singer Legion and to the very day remains a flawless, hateful yet varied Swedish black metal attack. Created in close cooperation with the band, this re-release features remastered sound (done by bassist Devo Andersson), detailed liner notes, unpublished photos, revamped artwork by Death Wolf vocalist Maelstrom and bonus material on the CD version: a cover version of Possessed's “Phantasm” plus an entirely unreleased rehearsal from 2002 spanning many of the album tracks. Almost 78 minutes of black metal annihilation!

Now, the band are re-visiting various much sought-after titles from their vast catalogue. “Wormwood” (2009) now returned on vinyl and CD. While going through possible extras for the “Wormwood” album, the band discovered a fully mastered track called “Shadow Comes”, which was supposed to be a bonus track but remained unused. The album has been mastered for vinyl by Patrick W. Engel.
