Info : Sweden's MARDUK are not only one of the most long running and respected black metal acts out there, but also one of the most productive. Even fourteen albums into their storied career, the quartet have never ever delivered a weak album and never wavered from their path of utter blasphemy and misanthropic contempt. 2004's “Plague Angel” was the first release featuring current vocalist Mortuus (Funeral Mist, Triumphator) who played a pivotal role in MARDUK's reinvigoration after the departure of previous singer Legion. He brought a new level of vocal and lyrical intensity plus a frightening stage presence into the game catapulting the group to new heights. Now, it will finally be made available! Remastered by Patrick W. Engel.

The album, the band's 12th full-length release, is a testament to their burning desire to create blackened metal of the highest order. A concept album of sorts, Serpent Sermon is an unadulterated attack on all that is good, casting a heavy pall over light and love. Morgan offers, “The lyrics should speak to everybody, to realize the power contained within. Just let it embrace you and the journey has begun!” That journey is a deep one that plumbs the very depths of Hell as guitars rip and shred, drums thunder and the low end bass pulls at the very bowels of the soul. “As long as we have the desire and burning ambition to spread the message we will continue to be the servants of a higher cause and keep delivering blood, fire and death to the world!”
Re-issue, 4 panel Digipack, black flooded inside, 28 page booklet on 135g art paper.

Created in close cooperation with the band, this re-release features remastered sound (done by bassist Devo Andersson), detailed liner notes, unpublished photos, revamped artwork by Death Wolf vocalist Maelstrom and bonus material on the CD version: a cover version of “Samhain” (originally by pre-DANZIG punk outfit SAMHAIN) and all three tracks from the “Obedience” EP (2000). Expect nothing but perfect extreme black metal pleasure!
Re-issue, CD jewelcase with 20 page booklet on 135g art paper.
“World Funeral” album (2003), which marked the last opus with singer Legion and to the very day remains a flawless, hateful yet varied Swedish black metal attack. Created in close cooperation with the band, this re-release features remastered sound (done by bassist Devo Andersson), detailed liner notes, unpublished photos, revamped artwork by Death Wolf vocalist Maelstrom and bonus material on the CD version: a cover version of Possessed's “Phantasm” plus an entirely unreleased rehearsal from 2002 spanning many of the album tracks. Where Marduk fired the arrow and hit the bullseye in terms of war-themed releases was this little 3 track release called Iron Dawn. In three tracks, Marduk sets its sights on sonically delivering the chaotic brutality of war, and executes to such a degree of perfection that you can't help but listen to the EP on repeat. It is amazing as much as it is haunting.
