KATATONIA
Discouraged Ones (Orange marble)

Marking 25 years since its original release, Katatonia's Discouraged Ones is presented on limited edition orange marble vinyl, with the album's original cover artwork.

An album of sublime and haunting Rock/Metal melancholy.

Katatonia was formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 1991 by Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström & have risen from their early beginnings in dark death/gothic doom metal, to become one of the leading acts of the metallic rock/prog scene, in an illustrious career spanning over three decades and twelve full-length studio albums.

’Discouraged Ones’ was recorded in 1997 at the infamous Sunlight Studios by Fred Estby and Tomas Skogsberg (Entombed, Dismember), and released the following year. 'Discouraged Ones' saw a new direction change with the epic compositions of old replaced with stripped down, compact structures to make room for new vocal harmonies courtesy of Jonas Renkse (who also played drums on the album), putting an end to the growling vocal style from prior releases and giving the band a broader appeal which only helped their trajectory towards being established on the global stage.

Upon release, 'Discouraged Ones' was seen as somewhat of a breakthrough opus for Katatonia which undoubtedly planted the seeds, stylistically, of what the band evolved into & represent to this day, even though more progressive elements were integrated over time. Overall, ’Discouraged Ones’ is a pinnacle of dark, gothic rock/metal excellence combined with ethereal, trance-like intensity.

ANATHEMA
Alternative 4 (25th Anniversary)

Released in 1998, 'Alternative 4', Anathema's fourth studio album, quickly became the band's best-selling and most highly regarded release to date.

Containing evocative atmospheric passages and emotional Rock anthems, Alternative 4 represented a giant progression from the band's previous work and hinted at the massive changes to come.

Displaying a more mature sound  than the band's earlier recordings, this is the album that gave birth to the more conceptual approach, that the band took further on such albums as a 'A Fine Day To Exit' and 'A Natural Disaster'.

Duncan Patterson was a major writing contributor to the album. This was the last album to feature the bassist (who went on to form Antimatter & then band Alternative 4)

Limited heavyweight 180gm Crystal Clear & White Marble vinyl edition.

FIMBULWINTER
Servants Of Sorcery (Gold Vinyl)

A 2023 official release of the cult classic primitive Norwegian black metal recorded in 1992, featuring Dimmu Borgir’s Shagrath

The sole release by Fimbulwinter, this edition includes additional tracks with 12" booklet and 2 posters

Gold Vinyl

Fimbulwinter, though short-lived, created a sole cult release in the form of 1994’s ‘Servants of Sorcery’, which emerged as the “second wave” of Norwegian black metal was truly taking hold. The band was formed in Oslo 1992, led by the notable figure of Shagrath, becoming most known afterwards as mainman for the phenomenon that was Dimmu Borgir. A more raw affair than the symphonic majesty of Dimmu Borgir, Fimbulwinter demonstrated a primal and fierce black metal attack, and concocted a perfect example of the early-90s style, with an extra injection of praise to bands of the 80s.

Even though ‘Servants of Sorcery’ as a release didn’t see the light of day until 1994, the tracks themselves were recorded back in the winter of 1992, and so stand as an essential and influential early example of what was to form a whole new chapter in metal history. Joining Shagrath was Skoll (Ved Buens Ende, Ulver, Arcturus) on bass, with the line-up completed by Necronos & Orbweaver.

This edition of ‘Servants of Sorcery’ - a title consistently requested by fans for a proper reissue for many years - notably includes material plus additional songs sourced and transferred from the band’s own tape collection (with work overseen by Shagrath himself), to present this most complete and comprehensive edition of Fimbulwinter’s work and legacy. Alongside Fimbulwinter’s own original material of spellbinding lo-fi grim chaos are storming cover versions of ‘Morbid Tales’ by Celtic Frost (which featured on the original ‘Servants of Sorcery’ release), plus ‘The Watchtower’ by Darkthrone, which is now included for the first time.

MORTUARY DRAPE
Black Mirror

THE LATEST, LONG-AWAITED FULL STUDIO ALBUM OF BLACKENED OCCULT HEAVY METAL FROM THE ITALIAN LEGENDS. ON CD.

Cult band Mortuary Drape was formed in Italy in 1986 as a trio, including the long-standing/sole-remaining member, band founder and visionary Wildness Perversion. Highly inspired by the dark arts & combining early influences from bands such as Mercyful Fate & Celtic Frost, Mortuary Drape developed their own unique style, defining themselves as black occult metal & releasing the demo ‘Necromancy’ in 1987 which spread their name throughout the underground; though it was not until 1992 that their first official release surfaced, with ‘Into the Drape’. This was followed by the debut full-length album, the classic ‘All the Witches Dance’ in 1994. Since then Mortuary Drape has been revered for their influential and pioneering work in the firm establishment of global black metal.

A further progression from the 2022 mini-album ‘Wisdom – Vibration – Repent’, which gave a firm taste of what was to come after signing with Peaceville Records, the Italians return with ‘Black Mirror’ for a new dose of ritualistic blasphemy. ‘Black Mirror’ is Mortuary Drape’s sixth full-length studio album, and presents a spellbinding, occult-draped journey featuring haunting passages and dark yet melodic vintage metal mastery, bringing to mind acts such as Mercyful Fate with their eerie, classic metal-rooted compositions and atmospherics, expertly crafted and delivered with the band’s own distinguishable injection of wicked intent.

RUIM
Black Royal Spiritism (Gold Vinyl)

Limited gold vinyl edition.

TRIUMPHANT BLACK METAL SUPREMACY FROM THE FORMER MAYHEM GUITARIST/ VLTIMAS FOUNDER, BLASPHEMER.
RUIM was formed in 2020 by the Norwegian born, Grammy award winning guitarist Blasphemer (Rune Eriksen), known from acts such as Vltimas & Mayhem.

Joining Blasphemer on drums is French born drummer Cesar Vesvre (Agressor, Thagirion).

Driven by a firm desire to revisit the style of music he has dedicated himself to & been associated with since the mid 90's & inspired by the rediscovery of a long-lost tape of old, unused Mayhem-era riffs from 98/99, the concept of starting a new project based around these ideas manifested itself quickly.

Soon, a new vision was born for an album immersed in Brazilian witchcraft and the left-hand path of the Umbanda tradition - a practice in which Blasphemer himself is taught in - to deliver a new blackened opus in the vein Blasphemer has been synonymous with since his inception into Mayhem back in 1994 (until 2007).
'Black Royal Spiritism - I.O Sino Da Igreja' is RUIM's debut studio album.

It presents a glimpse of something new, unique, visionary & highly eclectic.

This album marks the beginning of a concept set to span a trilogy of releases exploring & incorporating a deeply personal expression of Blasphemer's own beliefs regarding the greater spirits of the left-hand path.

A pitch-black offering, 'Black Royal Spiritism' is steeped in ominous & eerie, unnerving darkness.

Each track is meticulously woven with a sinister undercurrent, given flesh by Blasphemer's highly distinctive brutal riffing style, with atmospheric, ambient & clean passage interludes featuring among the chaos.

Vocals on 'Black Royal Spiritism - I.O Sino Da Igreja' are also handled by Blasphemer himself, sung in a mix of English, Portuguese & Norwegian, with lyrical themes rooted in a celebration & dedication to the lore & rituals of linha da esquerda.

'Black Royal Spiritism - I.O Sino Da Igreja' was recorded at Drudenhaus Studio in France & mastered by Jack Control at Enormous Door.

Proscriptor McGovern from 'Absu' also makes a guest appearance on a savage re-recording of the Mayhem classic 'Fall Of Seraphs' bringing fresh life to the track, which Blasphemer wrote back in 1995 & which originally featured on the 'Wolf's Lair Abyss' EP.

DARKTHRONE
Unholy Black Metal

Marking 30 years since the release of the genre classic, Under A Funeral Moon, Darkthrone's 'True Black Metal' era is commemorated with Unholy Black Metal, a limited five cassette boxset.

Featuring what was always considered the unholy trinity of Darkthrone albums - 1992’s iconic A Blaze in the Northern Sky, Under a Funeral Moon (1993) and Transilvanian Hunger (1994) - this collection also includes the often considered “missing link”, 1995’s legendary Panzerfaust (now proudly and rightly sitting alongside those opuses).

The set also includes the The Wind of 666 Black Hearts’ release, containing Darkthrone’s rare A Blaze in the Northern Sky and Under a Funeral Moon rehearsals.

The accompanying 40 page booklet features rare photos from this period of the band, as well as text chronicling the early-mid 90’s chapter of Darkthrone from the prior Black Death & Beyond book release, along with extra compiled articles on this period.

Also includes two posters in the shape of the ‘Taakeferd’ and ‘Ferdasyn’ paintings from Under a Funeral Moon and Transilvanian Hunger respectively, plus eight photo prints and a certificate of authenticity.

DARKTHRONE
Cromlech

Darkthrone's legendary 1989 demo, including additional tracks from Bootleg TV (1989) and rare rehearsal tracks from 1990.

Darkthrone started in 1986 under the name of Black Death. Although becoming known the world over as a black metal band crucial to the lasting legacy of the genre, Darkthrone began more as an extreme metal band utilising elements of thrash, death and doom metal into their early compositions.

Cromlech was Darkthrone’s final demo release, before a deal was inked with Peaceville Records. The demo was recorded in 1989 with the line-up of Gylve Nagell (Drums), Ted Skjellum (Guitars/vocals), Ivar Enger (Guitars) and Dag Nilsen (Bass); a line-up which would remain in place for the revered Soulside Journey and A Blaze in the Northern Sky albums.

As well as the iconic demo itself – containing tracks which would go on to form part of the Soulside Journey debut - this release also contains additional tracks from the Bootleg TV Oslo recordings in 1989, including a cover of Celtic Frost’s Visual Aggression. Also includes a trio of instrumental tracks from a rehearsal tape originally made for Peaceville founder Paul “Hammy” Halmshaw in 1990.

Vinyl with printed inner sleeve. Featuring the original Cromlech art/logo.

Thulcandra

Darkthrone formed in 1986, originally under the name of Black Death. Although becoming known the world over as a black metal band crucial to the lasting legacy of the genre, Darkthrone began life more as an extreme metal band utilising elements of thrash, death and doom metal into their early compositions.

Thulcandra contains the first 3 releases under the name of Darkthrone, Land of Frost demo (1988), A New Dimension promo (1988) (the first to feature the legendary early line-up of Gylve Nagell, Ted Skjellum, Ivar Enger and Dag Nilsen) and, last but not least, the Thulcandra demo itself (1989).

The music offers a clear demonstration of the quick development of a band very much in their aspiring, formative years, but with a growing maturity for their craft and an eclectic sphere of influences.

Vinyl edition including artwork from the original Thulcandra demo on the cover, with printed inner sleeve.
