In its original CD form, this has been ABIGOR´s most celebrated and best sold album, together with CRADLE OF FILTH´s debut heralding the start of Gothic Black Metal. Yet in stark contrast to the commercial traits, behind the well-implemented female vocals and tasteful keyboard additions lurks a backbone of Satanic Black Metal in its most radical form – by that, being a true product of the underground’s peak moment, when Black Metal reared its most ugly head in 1995.
In this regard, Nachthymnen is an almost solitary case, written by the reckless Austrian triumvirate at the age of 19 and 20, uniting beauty and wickedness, melancholic longing and an apocalyptic death drive. The most majestic album in the band’s history, capturing the essence of the fully blossoming 90s Black Metal scene at its turning point – the freedom and extremism of a scene which fell victim to a crisis of disorientation and mainstream corruption soon after. Nachthymnen may be one of the albums to blame for that, but remains fully innocent in its intention and execution. 9 hymns to the night, to demonic magic and the twilight kingdom.
This LP version in a glossy gatefold-sleeve for the first time delivers 1995 Hörnix sound perfectly transferred to vinyl, featuring a bonus CD with 1994/95 instrumental demo-rehearsals including early alternative versions, an extensive 32 page booklet, a poster and a brand-new master as download card as well.
20th anniversary edition.
Contains extra liner notes and previously unseen images. Also contains video interview with Nocturno Culto and Fenriz from 2003.
South American edition published by ICARUS Music (please note: this is an official license, not a bootleg)
ANFAUGLIR was forged by US multi-instrumentalists Lord Bauglir and Griss as an exploration in storytelling through epic symphonic Black Metal. Based upon the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, the duo aim to match the source material's scope and grandeur with unique cinematic compositions which transport listeners directly to Middle-earth.
Originally active 2004-2010, when they released cult 2008 debut album "Hymns over Anfauglith", ANFAUGLIR are now resurrected in glorious style to unleash a new suite of rousing, emotive and triumphant longform manifestations of a legendary mystical world.
Avoiding traditional song structures, the immaculately-produced new opus "Akallabêth" - meaning 'The Downfallen' in Adûnaic, the language of Tolkein's Númenoreans - is written and arranged in the vein of a traditional classical symphony. Themes and melodies develop, recur and transform, entwining delicately rapturous motifs with violent tragedy through the vastness of multi-layered orchestration, choral majesty, evocative chamber-work and sweeping Black Metal.
"Vedderbaug" second album from Norwegian black metal band LJÅ, marks a significant evolution from their 2006 debut, "Til avsky for livet."
While the first album delivered a raw, chaotic assault reminiscent of the second-wave black metal style, "Vedderbaug" offers relentless drumming, more ferocity with darker melodies.
Deeply rooted in traditional Norwegian black metal, "Vedderbaug" revealed a LJÅ more venomous with time.
Re-issue, updated layout for the best, mastered specially for vinyl.
