Selling CD, Vinyl, DVD, Merchandise and Second hand - Extreme Metal and Dark music
With just four compilation tracks and one 7" EP issued in the early 1980s, Hollow Ground did have a rather low profile at the time of the original New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. However, their first and only single »Flying High« (issued on the collectable Guardian Records label) became an instant collector's item. Today copies with the scarce picture sleeve fetch rather insane prices. Before the release of the single Hollow Ground had recorded the four songs 'Rock On', 'Fight With The Devil', 'Flying High' and 'The Holy One' for the Guardian compilation album entitled »Roksnax«. Hollow Ground carried on to record more material (such as 'Promised Land', 'Easy Action', 'Rock To Love' and 'Loser') but an album deal was not on the cards. As a result singer Glenn Coates left to join local rivals Fist. As a result, Hollow Ground split up in mid-1981. With 21 songs the Hollow Ground anthology album on High Roller Records contains virtually everything the band has ever recorded professionally. In comparism to some of the more conservative-sounding New Wave Of British Heavy Metal acts at the time (for example Fist), Hollow Ground did show a lot of promise. Guitarist Martin Metcalf knows why: “I think we had a wider range of influences as opposed to just heavy bands, we took things from all over the rock spectrum. We were like sponges soaking everything up, from the funk of Aerosmith, the hard-rock of Montrose to the proginess of Rush.” The song 'Fight With The Devil' was chosen by Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich for his »N.W.O.B.H.M. '79 Revisited« compilation released in 1990. Hollow Ground have recently played two re-union gigs: 2007 at Headbangers Open Air in Northern Germany and in late February 2014 at Newcastle's own Brofest.
Behold the ferocious display of the darkened, sinister and miasmatic death metal cruelty that BENOTHING have crafted for you and let yourself drown in the almost 30 minutes aural bliss that is temporal bliss surrealms!
The formation of the band dates back to 2017 when K.T and V.V teamed up to put together some musical ideas they had. in 2018 M.F joined the band on guitar/bass and the band evolved through a darker and complex songwriting. After roughly two years devoted to developing the songwriting process and with A.G joining the band in early 2019 the band was ready and aligned to channel their passion for the ancient and uncompromised manifestations of this morbid artistry and give finally birth to the first BENOTHING manifestation.
All the four tracks for the debut Ep were recorded live at rehearsal studio during summer 2020 and even though the recording consumed a lot of time because of the pandemic outburst and travel restrictions, nothing was more fitting for such bizarre times than to unfold the gates of their inner abyss and magnify the analog transmit death to execute the recordings for their debut EP "Temporal Bliss Surrealms". 100% DIY, recorded, mixed, and mastered by V.V and now ready to be unleashed upon this putrid earth!
For fans of Horrendous, Morbus Chron, Bedsore, Obliteration
All 14 songs on this compilation were recorded by the first line-up of DEATH SS which included Steve Sylvester on vocals, Paul Chain on guitar and keyboards, Claud Galley on rhythm guitar - Danny Hughes on bass and Tommy hand Chaste on drums From track 1 to track 7 are mostly unreleased home demo versions including the original intros They are therefore (apart from Terror) not the same versions that appeared on The Story of Death SS, bootleg released by Minotauro in 1987 From the 8th track onwards they are recorded in the studio and are therefore recorded at a higher levelExcept for songs 11 and 12 which are live versions, the only ones existing of that line-up (there was one with Santhis Ghoram on vocals, sung phonetically in 1984 and present on The Story or those remade by DEATH SS in 1995 with Steve Sylvester but played by other musicians, present on Horror Music) Another peculiarity is that this is the only disc that collects all the existing songs recorded by this line-up! Each track was then remastered and personally optimised by Steve Sylvester! The photos accompanying the artwork are all INEDITED and come from Steve Sylvester's private collection The front cover reproduces exactly that of the 1981 demo tape of the same name (only TWO copies exist)!
Comes in gatefold vinyl sized sleeve.
Included free 8 page full colour collectors booklet.
