ANCIENT GUARD is a new creation of Nightwolf, renown for pagan black metal vanguard RUNESPELL. As expected, his unmistakable mastery is all across Nightfall Enthroned, ANCIENT GUARD's first public work. A surprisingly vast mini-album at four songs in 31 minutes, Nightfall Enthroned is immersive to the extreme and almost soothing in its continually cresting swell of sumptuous black metal mysticism. While RUNESPELL's no-less-grandiose sound is oft given to bouts of bloodlust and battle rage, ANCIENT GUARD is pure magisterial march & might as can be expected of such a moniker. And Nighttwolf's knack for mesmerizing melodicism holds true here, as well, but if one could make distinctions in this regard, it's that Nightfall Enthroned swirls about to a spacious-yet-thick foundation that's equal parts stargazing wonder and weight-of-the-universe terror - an infinitely compelling canvas equally suited to adrift dreamers and austere realists alike. Followed by the acoustic lament "Eld," the synth-heavy epic "A Moonscape Abyss" says exactly everything it needs to about ANCIENT GUARD: awaken to Nightfall Enthroned!

”Djevelkraft” gathered enough attention in 2021 to boost MYRONATH quotations and their third opus, “Inferno”, delivers a perfectly structured Swedish black metal record, balanced between bangers, sulphuric mid-tempos and melodic breaks. Guided by the harsh but understandable vocals of Hellcommander Vargblood and sustained by a blasting drumwork and killer riffings, the nine compositions of “Inferno” deal with occult matter, anti-christian themes and hellish landscapes.

As the album unfolds, so does the narrative of death's unwritten pages, each track a testament to the inevitability of oblivion. While firmly rooted in black metal, the album is full of variation ranging from fast-paced blasts to doom-like passages and everything in between. The riffs pay homage to the iconic black metal bands of the 90s that shaped the genre, all the while carving out their own distinct trajectory. To create that extra layer of atmosphere, the songs are adorned with evocative acoustic & lead guitars and subtle synths.

Necronomicon is a German Thrash Metal Legend, founded in 1983. The band still exists today and has released eleven full length albums up till now. Extensive liner notes from Steven Willems with founding member Freddy (guitars and vocals). Deep within the Hyperborean mists there lies a pale blue light. It is the light of a flame whose embers have been smoldering long and low, awaiting the day when it will engulf the sky in brilliant and terrible cerulean Aurora. That day has come. Formed in 2006 as the singular musical vision of Vaedis, Vimur is a black metal band from the American South. Despite its hot, humid origins, Vimur's sound has a layer of icy frost seemingly shipped from beyond space and time.

Along the years, Vimur evolved into a full live-performing band, releasing three studio full-length albums, one EP and one live record. 2024 marks the collaboration between the Georgia-based band with long-standing Italian label Avantgarde Music to release the band’s fourth album, The Timeless Everpresent.

We asked the band to introduce the album in their own words. This is what seeped through the cracks of Vimur lair. “Forms change but ideas are eternal. Vimur is black metal totality and a conduit to the truth that lies hidden beyond the stars. The Timeless Everpresent is a revelation of vital energy and power. It is a soundtrack to the grand cosmic war that has existed since the beginning of time. No stone is left unturned. The vanguard knows that the war is fought on the physical, mental, and spiritual planes. This is reflected in the multi-dimensional sound achieved on The Timeless Everpresent. There are passages that reflect the blood, steel, and sweat of physical battle and others that are undeniably ascendent, making the listener aware of truths beyond material existence. The Timeless Everpresent is a collection of war hymns to destroy all illusion. Vimur reclaims the fire to light the mysteries. Flaming spears and swords in hand aimed at the heavens, nothing will stop Vimur from reaching the Sun behind the Sun whether the enemy be man or divine."

2024 repress in crystal clear vinyl

Three years after their fascinating debut, Suicide Forest is back with Reluctantly, a sophomore album which further develops their art. Taking their name from the Japanese Aokigahara forest, where many troubled 
people travel to end their life, the one-man band from Tucson, Az., moves from classic depressive black metal coordinates and expands their sound palette. As a result, Reluctantly settles somewhere in between DSBM, atmospheric black metal and post-black/blackgaze.
The perfect company for restless souls, Reluctantly reminds of the eerie keyboard patterns of Burzum and the dilated atmospheres of contemporary US black metal pillars like Ash Borer, mixed with some unpredictable twists such as dissonant riffs and solos. Suicide Forest will please both those looking for furious up-tempos and the more introvert blacksters, looking for a sanctuary from the outside world.
Multi-instrumentalist and mastermind A.Kruger wrote Reluctantly in the second half of 2019, before the pandemic struck us all, but began tracking the album at his home studio in early 2020. About the lyrics, when asked what themes inform his work, he plainly replied: The whole album focuses
on the themes of resent and isolation, feelings that were only compounded considering the entirety of Reluctanlty was recorded during the covid-19 lockdown”.
