After over 16 years of existence, Vordr should be known to most underground fanatics and has over the years gathered quite the following. With four albums and no less than thirteen other various outputs, most of these self-titled, the band is now back with a new album, aptly entitled "Vordr". 15 tracks of pure, riff based BLACK METAL.

In Norse mythology, a vörðr ("warden," "watcher" or "caretaker") is a warden spirit, believed to follow from birth to death the soul (hugr) of every person.

Debut digital recording for Spain's cryptic collective Black Earth that continues the path laid down by 2014's well received "A Cryptic Howl of Morbid Truth" cassette (Graceless Recordings). "Diagrams of a Hidden Order" presents us with three tracks showcasing their turbulent strain of blackened noise, that stretches the boundaries of black metal, death metal and dark ambient respectively, thus amplifying these genres into darker territory few have explored. Within the turbulence of chaos and bleakness, there exists fleeting form and (un)structure that is shattered and rebuilt over and over again; measured percussion, whispered incantations, and sudden outbursts of unseen violence. A truly potent alchemical document in practice.

Emily Highfield's one woman project Suldusk has woven the acoustic tones of Dark/Neo Folk with elements of Post Rock and Atmospheric Black Metal to create a powerful panorama of shimmering guitars, haunting melodies and atmospheric density on her debut album "Lunar Falls". The album's undercurrent theme is about living on the margins, and the intolerable suffering and sacrifice in the quest for identity. Nature provides much of the lyrical inspiration as the source of refuge and guidance throughout this quest. It is dedicated to the memory of Aleah Starbridge. "The Elm" is an adaptation of Aleah's and Juha Raivio's song "Sinking Ships". Recommended for fans of Trees of Eternity, Agalloch or Myrkur.

Originally released in 2017 on cassette but selling out each edition three times over, ITERU's Ars Moriendi has quickly become a highly considered & essential piece of modern underground doom-death. And listening to the expansive 34 minutes of this debut recording, it's easy to hear why: ITERU craft a crushing-yet-spacious experience of damnation and depression, almost effortlessly moving from spiraling suicidal melody to earth-shaking heft, and smothering the listener every step of the way. Even the vocals themselves seem to be world-eating, a force of nature (or even the supernatural) intent on utter oblivion. But, unlike so much doom-death past and especially present, Ars Moriendi always conveys a sense of movement - no sludge for its own sake here - and an expert grasp of dynamics; down every labyrinth, there is both light and shade, and all is DOOMED.
