Portugal's Corpus Christii have returned with a new album that continues the occult black metal sound.
A very dark and raw old school black metal sound starts off the album along with blast beats, morbid sounding melodies and grim yet high pitched screams and the solos and leads are very dark and melodic but also remain true to a black metal style and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.

On this opus the band have seem to find a way to surpass all their previous records in production as well on musical approach by a clear mile. A combination of old school black metal tradition with new sought elements that create a blasphemous atmosphere filled with darkness and evil.

The guitars are mesmerizing, filled with heaviness and the right dose of melodies where the bass guitar underlines the heaviness and yet have a clear production together. The drums have their own pattern and stand out by delivering the right punch on the snare and kick, finalized by the exact same punch on the fill sound. And last but not least, the vocals are harsh, hateful and preach pure torment and blasphemy.

The re-release of CORPUS CHRISTII's The Fire God is truly an exciting event for fans of underground Black Metal. Originally released in 2001 by Hiberica and later reissued by Sadolust in 2006, the album has always been considered a vital part of the Portuguese Black Metal history. This edition marks the return of an essential piece of the genre that has been long sold out and in high demand.

The new edition features a re-arranged layout, includes the original tracklist, ensuring that the listener experiences the raw energy and atmosphere of the record as it was intended. Worth the mention, of Mayhem's iconic cover of "Buried by Time and Dust," which features a guest appearance by Necrobutcher on bass, making this release even more noteworthy for fans of both CORPUS CHRISTII and Mayhem alike.
