Fearless Undead Machines was a pivotal album in the deep 'n' distinctive DECEASED discography. Prior to its release, the band was in a state of transition, going from the dizzyingly technical 'n' chaotic The Blueprints for Madness in '95 and wanting a more stripped-down, streamlined approach. What resulted was a massive monolith of epic HEAVY METAL songwriting suffused with the spirit of their earlier, thrashing death metal ways..

Transcending Obscurity

DECEASED classic Fearless Undead Machines on double-LP vinyl. Originally released in 1997 by Relapse Records and on double-LP vinyl by HELLS HEADBANGERS in 2004, Fearless Undead Machines was a pivotal album in the deep 'n' distinctive DECEASED discography. Prior to its release, the band was in a state of transition, going from the dizzyingly technical 'n' chaotic The Blueprints for Madness in '95 and wanting a more stripped-down, streamlined approach. What resulted was a massive monolith of epic HEAVY METAL songwriting suffused with the spirit of their earlier, thrashing death metal ways...and hooks/hooks/hooks for miles! Despite its hefty, 68-minute length, the album was immediate - and immediately memorable. And while vocalist/drummer King Fowley always had a unique flair for horror-based lyrics, on Fearless Undead Machines, his lyricism took on a now-characteristic storytelling aspect, making each of these 11 epics truly a world in itself.

A massive 53-song collection across two CDs, Cadaver Traditions compiles two out-of-print covers albums, 2002's Zombie Hymns and 2004's Rotten to the Core, and generously adds 17 more unreleased songs. DECEASED have never been shy about their influences, ranging as they have frenetic early death metal to twisted tech-thrash to epic heavy metal and plenty more in between, and here they pay tribute to all who came before and added their sonic/psychic ingredients to the ever-unique DECEASED cauldron. Cadaver Traditions spans the obvious touchstones - Voivod, Iron Maiden, Kreator, Exciter, Venom, Mercyful Fate, Slayer, Raven, Warfare - to less obvious ones - Bad Brains, The Ramones, 45 Grave, Agnostic Front, The Doors, MDC, Sex Pistols, Angry Samoans, Verbal Abuse inducing version of "The Ballad of Harry Warden," from the horror classic My Bloody Valentine.

Demos From the Grave! Comprising a grand total of 35 tracks across three LPs, Demos From the Grave collects DECEASED's cult early demos: 1986's The Evil Side of Religion, 1988's Birth by Radiation, 1989's Nuclear Exorcist and a previously unreleased 10-song rehearsal from 1989. These three demos were the raw, raucous burst of energy which put the name DECEASED on the metal map, and which mapped out their ascent from the death metal underground across the ensuing '90s. Here, the band's grounding in classic, thrashing EARLY death metal is laid bare - scrappy and explosive, but suggesting the classic heavy metal they'd further explore and perfect in the 2000s.
