Eldamar is the solo project of Mathias Hemmingby from Askim/Norway, performing Atmospheric Black Metal and Ambient. It was formed in the summer of 2015.
Conceptually, Eldamar is inspired by J.R.R Tolkien, Heathenism, Elven Magic and Nature.
The goal of Eldamar's art is to help listeners to open up to the music in an emotional way and combine the experience with their imagination. To that end, the music on Eldamar’s releases is combined with the gorgeous artworks of famous landscape painter Albert Bierstadt. The combination of aural and visual impressions will allow them to drift away in their own dreams while listening to the songs. With persistence, this practice will carry them right through the gates of Alfheimr/Elvenhome.
After the huge success of Eldamar’s debut album “The Force of the Ancient Land” (2016), which is currently approaching 1.000.000 Plays on Youtube, both expectations and demand for more music in Eldamar’s unique style are very high. The young mastermind behind the band, with an uncanny knack for knowing what his growing crowd of followers wants, plays it cool and easily delivers another quality release that continues right where the debut album and the split EP with Dreams of Nature left off.
Through time and space, a spirit that won't show face. The living man will feel, but the spirit do not kneel. Cause I am not it`s master, it controls everything that grows faster. Three and man is equal out through the sequel. Treat this with respect, the force will protect.
Eldamar Is heavily inspired by the North lands nature Power. Look at it as a journey, and drift away in your own dreams.
Collector's Edition in 4-panel digipack, limited to 999 copies.
This album features the song "Hagalaz" from the split with Dreams of Nature that was only available on that CD until now, as well as an unreleased demo version of "Spirit of the North" from 2015 and the previously unreleased demo song "Entering Eldamar" from 2015 - a fantastic 15 minutes opus that showcases a much darker and more melancholic side of Eldamar. The earliest beginnings, if you will. All in all you get 40:44 min of rare and unreleased Eldamar material in a strictly limited digipack edition. An absolute must have for fans of the project!
Collector's Edition in 4-panel digipack, limited to 999 copies.
Conceptually, Eldamar used to be inspired by J.R.R Tolkien, Heathenism, Elven Magic and Nature. On the new album, however, this focus has shifted more towards existential themes and nonphysical experiences.
The goal of Eldamar's art has always been to help listeners to open up to the music in an emotional way and combine the experience with their imagination. To that end, the combination of aural and visual impressions was and still is important. Where in the past Eldamar used the gorgeous nature paintings of Albert Bierstadt to help the listener to enter dream-like lands, the new album, which is part one of a two part work, uses a magnificent painting by the Polish master of surreal art Mariusz Lewandowski to give the listener some visual cues as to what this album is about. As usual, the music and art are meant to speak for themselves, and listeners are encouraged to enter into their own spiritual journeys while listening to the new album.
