ROTTING CHRIST have stood the test of time. 'Rituals' is an album that has obviously been written by veterans. The Greek legends inject a 27-year career, 12 albums, and more than 1.200 shows into their songwriting. With confidence and skills derived from experience, each song represents its own sonic universe. Guitarist / vocalist Sakis Tolis and brother Themis on drums achieve a perfect balance of amalgamating their classic and unique style of riffing and rhythm with exciting new elements sprinkled in to keep their material exciting and fresh. Carefully chosen guests are being added for better effect, not name dropping such as the spoken words of Nick Holmes (PARADISE LOST) on "A Voice Like Thunder" or SAMAEL's Vorph mesmerizingly quoting from Charles Baudelaire's "Les Fleurs Du Mal" throughout the song "Les Litanies De Satan". Goosebumps moments such as these are liberally sprinkled throughout the record, which manages the feat to sound rock solid and made out of one heavy piece as well as diverse and far ranging at the same time. The experienced is enhanced by Jens Bogren's equally clear and transparent yet also massive as well as sombre mix and mastering at his widely renowned Fascination Street Studios (AMORPHIS, BORKNAGAR, MOONSPELL, DEVIN TOWNSEND, and many more).

Greek black metal legends Rotting Christ formed in 1988, with their early demo recordings containing strong grindcore elements as the band quickly evolved their style into something altogether darker. Spearheaded by brothers Sakis & Themis Tolis, Rotting Christ have remained one of the strongest and most respected forces in the black metal scene since their debut release ‘Passage of Arcturo’. Their legacy towards greatness was cemented even further by the genre classic follow-up ‘Thy Mighty Contract’, helping to firmly establish the Greek scene as being among the most essential black metal movements of the early 90’s. ‘Abyssic Black Metal’ compiles the early works of the band, from the more grind-laced early recordings of a band finding their own direction, plus the all-time classic ‘Satanas Tedeum’ release which paved the way for the band’s melodic and atmospheric style of black metal, along with the early obscure EPs. The collection also notably features the 1995 promo release, containing raw stripped down renditions of tracks to feature on the band’s eventual third full-length release, ‘Triarchy of the Lost Lovers’. This vinyl edition of ‘Abyssic Black Metal’ marks the 30th anniversary of Rotting Christ and is presented on double gatefold vinyl, containing rare cover art from the early era of the band.

Marking 30 years of the band, Under Our Black Cult is a deluxe 5 CD, 72 page book-set charting the early years of the Greek Black Metal legends, Rotting Christ.

The set also includes a limited hand-signed certificate from Sakis ‘Necromayhem’ Tolis (while stocks last).

Written by The Cult Never Dies author Dayal Patterson, the book chronicles the early years of Rotting Christ from its Grindcore origins to the its status as masters of occult Hellenic Black Metal. It features interviews with the band, plus luminaries from the Black Metal and Underground scenes, and friends such as Behemoth’s Nergal, Moonspell’s Fernando Ribeiro and more.

The 5 audio discs contain a comprehensive collection of early works including demos, rarities, live material, the classic Passage To Arcturo MLP, and the Thy Mighty Contract and Non Serviam albums. All show why Rotting Christ has sustained a three-decade legacy on the back of its inspirational beginnings.

The 2-CD set 'Their Greatest Spells' takes a retrospective look at the cult Greek band's fascinating musical development by picking a select choice of key tracks covering the many facets of ROTTING CHRIST. With such a massive catalogue, a "best of" compilation will always lead to controversy about certain additions as well as omissions from the final list, but the involvement of frontman Sakis Tolis himself in this difficult task ensures that the result is at least relevant.

ROTTING CHRIST finally release their first official live album. It is nothing but appropriate that a band with a 27 year success story, 12 albums, and more than 1.200 shows under their belts celebrate this event with a double album. 'Lucifer Over Athens' was recorded in the Greeks' hometown in front of a crowd going wild in December 2013. This striking testimony of the veterans' massive prowess on stage marks a high point in the career of ROTTING CHRIST. With a stable and strong line-up, band leader Sakis confidently marches his phalanx not only to conquer the live audience but also to capture the listener with 'Lucifer Over Athens'. This grandiose show of force is supported by a gigantic barrage of classics and fan favourites to grace a carefully selected setlist. The Greeks also worked extremely hard on recording and preserving the atmosphere and live sound of the concert for this document. 'Lucifer Over Athens' really comes as a gift that the band made to themselves and to the multitude of ROTTING CHRIST supporters around the globe.
