OBLIVEON emerged in January 1987 when three guys from Montreal decided to transform a fun pastime into a musical career. During this same year, two demos launched in March and September circulated on the underground alternative scene and left a positive Impression. The band took its true take-off with the output in 1989 of the demo Fiction of Veracity recorded with the arrival of a second guitarist and a new drummer.

Labelled in its beginnings as a Death Metal act because of the trend which prevailed at that time, OBLIVEON always developed its own identity by exploring original and contemporary sonorities. Today, while preserving the intensity of its roots, the sound of the quintet incorporates various musical moods to create a cosmic environment connected on Cybermetal guitar riffs and rhythmic percussion.

Medellin, Colombia-based black thrash metal trio HELLION has been fighting since 2014, keeping the genre intact but giving it a proper innovative touch. Over the past decade, HELLION has released a demo, an EP, and two full-length albums, Hordes of Witchery and Rebel's Curse, all crushing, raw, savage, aggressive, and abhorrent. Since 1981, singer/guitarist CHARLY STEINHAUER and drummer AXEL BLAHA have been active in various formations in Würzburg, Lower Franconia. In the beginning, however, the group names and other members are constantly changing, so it is only in February 1986 that you can speak of a real band and rename yourself to PARADOX.

PARADOX's two full-length albums, PRODUCT OF IMAGINATION and HERESY, released in 1987 and 1989 respectively, have become undisputed masterpieces, and their extensive demos, recorded in 1988 and 1990, are equally invaluable but have never been released.

Awakening Records is proud to be licensed by PARADOX to officially release these materials. This excellent compilation is titled "THE DEMO COLLECTION VOL. 2 1988-1990". The 16-page booklet features numerous rare photos, flyers, a biography of the band, and a specially created PARADOX family tree. A must-have for your collection!

Named after a giant, serpent-like demon that embodies the ancient Egyptian mythos of chaos and darkness, German death metal band APEP draws its Egyptology-laden musical cues from well-respected bands such as NILE, NEPHREN-KA, RUDRA, MELECHESH, and BEHEMOTH.

Formed in 2016 out of the ashes of CARNAGE, the trio of drummer Merlin Friedrich, guitarist Oliver Pikowski, and vocalist Christopher Fleckeisen set out to create a more technical brand of death metal, combining it with an ancient aesthetic. Philip Kühn was added in 2017 as the second guitarist, while Henrik Osterloh took over his duties last year.

After a series of demos, EPs, and their acclaimed debut album, "Bizarre Tales from the Past and the Future," released in 2023, ANATHEMATISE is back with their second full-length album. This time, they focus on intricate technical arrangements that showcase their raw, intense deathrash metal sound.

Established in 1995, the Teutonic death metal veterans ANASARCA released their debut full-length album, Godmachine, in 1998. This album delivers a brutal, melodic, and distinctive death metal experience!

"Antichrist President," North Carolina's DENIAL's only full-length album—originally released in 1991—has been remastered and will be reissued through Awakening Records on April 4, 2025. The band's twin guitar attack, thunderous rhythm section, and politically-charged lyrical themes, helped set them apart from their peers at the time. Unfortunately, due to their record label contract, the band soon split up after the release. DENIAL may not be a household name within the current metal landscape, but with this reissue of their debut album "Antichrist President," fans of the genre will be able to discover an unforgotten gem of' 90s-era thrash metal. — Kelley Simms

Colombian death metal machine, DEFAMATORY, has been spewing its savage brand of death metal for almost a decade. Eight years after releasing its debut full-length album, "Premature Burial," DEFAMATORY will unleash its sophomore album, "Path of No Return," through Awakening Records on November 28, 2025.

Steeped in the classic '90s death metal of scene progenitors such as DEATH, MORBID ANGEL, OBITUARY, ENTOMBED, and others, DEFAMATORY crafts dark riffs that are both intricate and straightforward, yet always brutal.
 

Brazilian blackened speed/thrash metal band, EVILCULT, will release its third full-length album “Triumph of Evil” through Awakening Records.

Formed in 2016, EVILCULT has recorded an EP and two singles before releasing its destructive debut full-length album “At the Darkest Night” in 2020, followed by its equally blasphemous sophomore release “The Devil is Always Looking for Souls” in 2023.

Since emerging from Santiago in 2019, DEMIURGUS has gone on to record a demo, an EP and the crushing Spanish-language single "La decapitación de Cronos."

Featuring drummer Camilo Díaz, guitarist Bastián Calderón, bassist Javier Durán, and vocalist/guitarist Manuel J.S.M., the band has been diligently working on these new tracks that make up "Equilibrio" over the past few years.

Colombian death metal mongers, GRAVEYARD WINDS, have slowly but assuredly been building their brand of classic death metal since their 2018 formation. They feature cavernous vocals, abyssal riffs, and traditional death metal structures, with doom influences, cosmic horror atmospheres, poetic lyrics, and a funeral tone. This approach sets them apart from their Colombian pe
