Debemur Morti Productions mark 15 years of fervent devotion to the dark arts with Servants Of Chaos II, a beautifully-curated compilation featuring 15 exclusive tracks from 14 bands that have contributed to the label’s history.
Rooted - as the label has primarily been since inception - in multiple forms and offshoots of Black Metal, this diverse array of artists offer up an essential collection of deeper cuts marked by shared authenticity, spirituality and ability to truly transcend the listener.

Arising from the confluence of La Morte (flute) and Lo Spazio (lead guitar), La Morte Viene Dallo Spazio is an open ensemble that has reached his current shape by its conjunction with two Female Entities (bass, synth/moog). "The Apocalyptic Triumphator" is a monstrous collection of cavernous psalms to Lucifer, a glorious affront to Christianity embedded in a sinister sonic environment.
The new abomination from these distinguished defilers of Christianity bears the true seal of authenticity. "The Apocalyptic Triumphator" sounds like a diabolical pact with the darkest form of Artistic Creation. The legendary MANES return with "Slow Motion Death Sequence", the most fully realised manifestation of the inimitable vision they first unveiled on 2003's "Vilosophe".
The band continue to riff on late 90s’ progressive experimentation of the Norwegian metal avant-garde (In The Woods, The 3rd and the Mortal, Solefald, Ulver), deftly weaving the left-field oddity of that period through hook-ridden pop music and tripped-out electronica.

Monumental Heresy is a wonderful culmination of years of heartfelt dedication to the craft by mastermind Lars Stavdal - a continuation of the rich hybrid experimentation of last full-length Shunya (2012) and a simultaneous backward glance towards the harshly beautiful atmosphere of the band’s earlier works.
The rawness and energy within the music has been elevated on par with feelings of wistful solitude to create an album of propulsive splendour, both timeless and echoing the glorious mid-nineties epoch.
The orchestral elements have been pushed a step further, with a male choir incorporated into the sound alongside pristine arrangements for violin, viola and cello, ornate synth and nostalgic folk-inflected lead guitar as evocative of sadly-missed compatriots WINDIR as it is the Hellenic pioneers.

Simply put, Malediction is a statement of intent. A purely Satanic album, in the band's eyes, and one which draws a line firmly in the sand, this is pure Southern Vassaforian Hell driven to the outer reaches of primitivism and transcendence. Here, VASSAFOR strip bare their most barbaric tendencies, down to their most unapologetic form, and build anew a temple of unimaginable might. The maw of chaos opens ever wide, beckoning the listener to submit and be devoured; meanwhile, tendrils of tension untether in a manner most ambient. If any of VASSAFOR's earlier work achieved a sense of vertigo - and it surely has - then Malediction is the band's most potent distillation/distortion of such yet. Across a time-evaporating/halting 50 minutes, each of the five tracks comprising Malediction work as mantra and spell simultaneously. Doom(ier) elements are largely traded for utter violence and virulence, which somehow makes the end result all the more stultifying and psychedelic in equal measure.
