Formed on the ashes of Hymen Imerforatus which played thrash metal. When in 1990 the musical direction went more into death metal the band changed the name for Assembly, then Enshrined and in 1991 finally for Goddefied.
The band name is actually Goddefied, but Richard C of Wild Rags misread the logo and wrote Goddified in the debut CD spine.

Official reissue of this cult and obscure Death/Doom classic from the Dutch scene, originally released in 1994, featuring brand new artwork by Cesar Valladares, lots of pictures taken from the band´s personal archives, liner notes by Gerlach Timmer (Mystic Charm´s bassist), and the "Endless Sickness" demo (1992) as bonus tracks. Remastered by the band themselves, "Shadows of the Unknown" is a haunting journey into dismal, atmospheric and morbid Death/Doom with eerie, rotten female vocals straight from a mouldy forgotten crypt. An absolute must for anybody into the sickening darkness of bands such as Delirium, Sempiternal Deathreign, Derkéta, early Paradise Lost, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, early My Dying Bride, Winter, Mythic...

Featuring members of such past and current acts as Morstice, Blessed Realm and Winds Of Genocide, U.K.´s Uncoffined are a morbid musical entity influenced by old school Death/Doom, traditional Doom Metal, nihilistic and misanthropic Sludge, old stinking graveyards that reek of death, old Hammer horror/low budget/zombie movies, the occult and clandestine satanic rituals. This, their debut full-length album, is the aural equivalent of a dark haunting sinister figure lurking amongst the shadows and graves of an overgrown old graveyard that no one dares to enter at night.

Are heavily influenced by the morbid writings of Brian Keene, as well as the master of cosmic horror, H.P. Lovecraft. Musical influences include Cianide, Slugathor, early Death, Hellhammer, Autopsy and Bolt Thrower, but with no desire to simply follow or be written off as another old school throwback. Instead, Church Of Disgust take those references as a mere starting point only to regurgitate them as a repulsive, uncompromising and genuine form of rotting Death Metal for all avid fans of the genre to feast upon. "Unworldly Summoning" was mastered by Javier Felez @ Moontower Studios, Barcelona (Ataraxy, Teitanblood, Avulsed, Nominon, Graveyard...) and features a jaw-dropping cover art by the brilliant Basque artist Igor "Abigor" Mugerza (Centinex, Decayed, Nakkiga, Spellcraft, Numen...)

While most bands feel comfortable treading a safe and orthodox path, Altar Of Betelgeuze, featuring past and current members of the Finnish Death Metal war ensemble Decaying, dare to take their influences one step beyond and offer a solid and very natural combination of old school Death/Doom heaviness and growls, and trippy, epic Stoner/Doom passages with clean vocals, creating a dense atmosphere of bleakness and decay that both crushes and rocks.
