Depressive Silence was founded by RAL & B.S. from Mightiest in 1994. The band is one of the cult acts and forerunners of the Dungeon Synth genre alongside Mortiis and Jim Kirkwood.
Back then, the genre wasn’t even called Dungeon Synth yet, and only later got that monicker, probably named after Mortiis’ label Dark Dungeon Music. At first it was just Dark Ambient. Nonetheless it was already something special in that it combined elements from Black Metal (more visually and thematically rather than musically) and fantasy into a new style that appealed to some Black Metal fans as well as those who preferred keyboard music and role playing games. Once the name Dungeon Synth had been established the appeal to (Black) Metal fans became much greater and the genre really took off, with Depressive Silence as one of the most beloved and well known bands of this rapidly growing genre.
Collector's Edition in 8-panel digipack, limited to 500 copies.
While Arcas’ debut self-titled album took listeners on a mesmerizing journey through serene landscapes, "Where The Light Once Shone" ventures into uncharted territories, delving deeper into the abyss of raw intensity. The contrast between blistering, high-speed black metal passages and moments of eerie tranquility remains at the heart of Arcas' songwriting. However, in “Where The Light Once Shone”, the intensity has been magnified, with ferocious blast beats, razor-sharp riffs, and venomous screams intertwining to create an atmosphere that seethes with aggression and raw power.
"Where The Light Once Shone" is the product of Enzo's relentless pursuit of perfection. Tirelessly honing his craft, he has poured his heart and soul into crafting this captivating experience. With painstaking attention to detail, Enzo has meticulously recorded, mixed, and mastered each track, ensuring that the album's ferocity is captured in all its glory.
“Where The Light Once Shone” is an auditory journey that will challenge your senses and transport you to the furthest reaches of your emotional spectrum.

Earthshine was formed in 2015 by the brothers Sam and Connor Dwyer from Australia who wanted to make something they could both work on, discuss and get excited about while not living close to each other (Sam living in Japan, Connor in Australia). Their debut album was released by Northern Silence in 2016.
The second album, ‘My Bones Shall Rest Upon the Mountain’, is heavily influenced by Sam's experiences in Japan, especially the extremely snowy and cold winters, which were shocking compared with the winters he’d experienced in Australia. During the time between this album and the debut, Connor became much more influenced by Psychedelic music while Sam continued listening to Black Metal. The new album is still focused on a sorrowful Doom sound, but with more Black Metal and atmospheric influences.
This album was recorded with a seven string guitar and a range of guitar pedals Sam was able to pick up in Japan. In the brothers' opinion the new songs are better in every regard, and the music sounds more sorrowful and heavy. Nature and the harshness of life influenced both the music and lyrics for this album.
