ASSASSIN
Outer Space Death

If you were talking German thrash metal in the second half of the 1980s, you couldn’t go past Assassin from Düsseldorf, who released their highly influential (go ask the Norwegian black metal scene) first two full-lengths “The Upcoming Terror” and “Interstellar Experience” in 1987 and ‘88 respectively. The latter, which is widely regarded as a quintessential Teutonic thrash album, was tracked at Music Lab Berlin with legendary producer Harris Johns (Kreator, Voivod), who had the band record the material live in studio prior to the actual sessions. Now for the first time ever, these recordings – all album tracks minus ‘Baka’, which was written on the fly later on, while ‘Damned World’ was renamed ‘Strange World’ – will get a proper release via High Roller Records. Entitled “Outer Space Death”, the material was transferred from cassette, restored and mastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony in late 2024. The result shows just how good Assassin were as performers, arguably even surpassing the final album versions of the songs. “It’s definitely worth listening to because it sounds very different,” says guitarist Dinko Vekić, hitting the nail on its head

JORD
Emellan Träden

“Emellan Träden” is a raw and haunting journey through icy melodies and endless darkness!

For fans of Enslaved, Vintersorg and Borknagar!
Jord drag their sound deeper into the forest on their new album “Emellan Träden”, a towering, windswept slab of atmospheric Black Metal!
Formed by Jörgen “Jurg” Ström (ex-Rimfrost, ex-Skineater) in 2020 as a solo project, Jord built two albums (“Sol” and “Måne”) straight from the gut, before evolving into a full band. With guitarist Sebastian “Hravn” Svedlund (Rimfrost, Omnicidal) and drummer Stefan “Jansson” Jansson (Omnicidal) locking in, Jord found the weight and muscle their music was begging for.
Recorded again with Micke Andersson at Studio Soundport, the new album keeps Jord’s heart; atmospheric Black Metal shot through with Post Rock and Folk undercurrents, but hits harder, breathes deeper.

Songs weave through towering riffs, soaring clean passages, hypnotic rhythms, and moments of total collapse.

GALAR - De Gjenlevende (Marble)

GALAR
De Gjenlevende (Marble)

Norwegian melodic Black/Folk Metal classic finally available on vinyl! This edition limited to 150 copies.

Following the success of “Til Alle Heimsens Endar” (2010), Bergen’s Galar returned with their third full length “De Gjenlevende”, a sweeping, symphonic Black Metal journey, now reissued on vinyl.

Recorded at Concleave & Earshot Studios with Bjørnar E. Nilsen, the album continues Galar’s fusion of harsh, melodic Black Metal with rich Nordic Folk elements. Featuring Phobos (Aeternus, Gravdal) on drums and contributions from a string quintet and horn quartet, the sound is both massive and intricate.

Lyricist Jorge Blutaar weaves a concept rooted in Pan-European folklore, where winter symbolizes death, frailty, and introspection, only to give way to the hope and renewal of spring. A reflection on the eternal cycle of decay and rebirth.

“De Gjenlevende” stands as Galar’s most epic and intense work, monumental in both sound and vision. Finally available on vinyl, as it was always meant to be heard.

• First time vinyl reissue of Galar’s 2015 masterpiece
• Symphonic black metal steeped in Nordic folk and classical grandeur
• Recorded by Bjørnar E. Nilsen (Taake, Helheim, Vulture Industries)
• Featuring Phobos (Aeternus, Gravdal) on drums
• Includes full string quintet and horn quartet
• Concept album exploring folklore, death, and seasonal cycles
• Stunning cover art by Robert Høyem (Evoken, Kampfar)

For fans of: Windir, Bathory, Ereb Altor, Immortal, Arcturus

HELHEIM - HrabnaR / Ad vesa (Green vinyl)

HELHEIM
HrabnaR / Ad vesa (Green vinyl)

Green vinyl limited to 150 copies

Helheim, one of the founding pioneers of the Norwegian viking metal genre, are ready to release their 12th studio album “HrabnaR / Ad vesa”. On this record, Helheim has made a split album with themselves. For the first time, the main songwriters V'gandr and H'grimnir have divided the album in two, where they solely take care of the vocals on the part they represent musically. This has resulted in two very different expressions - not uncommon for this band, but never as clearly as here. The first half, “Hrabnar”, contains four stand-alone songs written by H’grimnir. The second part, “Ad vesa”, is about the four components in Norse mythology that we know collectively as the human soul. In pre-Christian Norway, the concept of the soul was not a singular, unified entity, but a composite of many elements, of which the four key components were Fylgja, Hamr, Hugr, and Hamingja. Founded in 1992, Helheim are known and renowned all over the world for their authenticity and integrity when it comes to portraying their Norse heritage. Constantly growing and evolving, and staying clear of musical trends and fads, they’ve carved their own way for more than 30 years.

THYRANE
Symphonies Of Infernality (Red / Marble)

Red Black Marble

Thyrane was originally formed in 1994 when Blastmor, the mastermind of the band, and two other musicians began playing their first chords of blasphemy. After writing some songs and going through several changes within the line-up, Blastmor finally found the dedicated guitarist Daemon and bass player R. Grönholm in 1996, and so the banner of evil was finally raised high. In 1997, Thyrane’s music evolved to a higher level and it became apparent that the band needed a second guitarist: Avather joined and so Thyrane entered Tico-Tico Studio in the following December and their first satanic attack was created in the form of the incredible “Black Harmony”-demo, which led to a deal with Woodcut Records, who re-released the demo on CD. Thyrane’s first full-length, “Symphonies of Infernality”, also recorded and mixed at the Tico- Tico Studio, was released in 1999. After finishing “Symphonies of Infernality”, R. Grönholm left the band due to personal reasons. Daemon was forced to take over the bass, and Blastmor moved over to lead guitar while also handling the vocals. The band also found a session drummer to play their live gigs.

1914 - Viribus Unitis
Pre order

1914
Viribus Unitis

Ukrainian blackened death/doom metal formation 1914 return with unrelenting force on their fourth studio album, Viribus Unitis, Latin for "With United Forces." Far more than a historical reference to the personal motto of Franz Joseph I of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the title reflects the band’s resilience through war, loss, and upheaval – a powerful symbol of survival and solidarity. Releasing on November 14, 2025 via Napalm Records, Viribus Unitis builds on the band’s acclaimed conceptual approach, pushing even deeper into emotional and musical intensity.

Continuing their chronicle of World War I, 1914 shift their focus slightly, from the raw portrayal of death and destruction to themes of camaraderie, endurance, and the emotional landscapes of those who endured the horrors. While previous releases like The Blind Leading the Blind (2018) and Where Fear and Weapons Meet (2021) centered on the futility and finality of war, Viribus Unitis explores the human bonds forged under fire and the strength of those who returned: broken, changed, yet still alive.

Musically, 1914 remain true to their identity – brutal mixture of blackened death metal, slow-burning doom, and ambient war soundscapes. This time, however, their sound gains a broader dynamic range, with soaring melodic leads, orchestral textures, and haunting clean vocals that provide dramatic contrast to the crushing heaviness. One of the album’s highlights is a collaboration with Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride and High Parasite on “1918 Pt. 3: ADE (A Duty to Escape),” whose mournful voice adds a solemn, almost liturgical quality to this elegy of grief and brotherhood on the front lines.

Viribus Unitis deepens 1914’s commitment to historical authenticity, both lyrically and conceptually. Told through real events and personal accounts of a Ukrainian soldier in the K.u.K. army, the album traces a timeline from 1914 to 1919, painting a grim journey through the war’s rise, climax, and hollow aftermath.

From the brooding opener “War In” to the bleak closer “War Out (The End?)”, each track captures a moment in time: the brutal “1914 (The Siege of Przemysl)”, the frostbitten “1915 (Zwinin Ridge)”, the crushing Alpine combat of “1916 (Südtirol Offensive)”, and the madness of “1918 Pt. 2: POW (Prisoner of War)” featuring Christopher Scott of Precious Death.

The album ends with “1919 (The Home Where I Died),” featuring Rome’s Jerome Reuter, a haunting portrait of a soldier who survived the war, but not its shadow. This emotional song deals with the soldier's will to live and his family values, seeing him escape from captivity to finally return home to embrace his wife and daughter. 1914 fuse blackened death metal, doom, and atmospheric textures with dramatic flourishes and guest vocals, creating their most dynamic and emotionally resonant record to date.
