On ROTTING CHRIST’s 10th studio album, “Theogonia”, the Greek Black Metal Gods return faithful to their ancient blackened-gothic style while materializing as a faster, more aggressive entity.
The established melodies of the past are indeed alive but this new apparition is cloaked with deeper atmospheric and epic elements as they recall the sordid history of their country land.
in deluxe Digipak with gold foil incl. 12-page booklet.
For over three decades, Tolis brothers Sakis and Themis have carved a blackened path through the metal world. Architects of the Hellenic black metal, ROTTING CHRIST have been blending histrionic atmospheres, mesmerizing choirs, and neo-classical arrangements for 35 years.
Now, the Greek metal legends present their 14th studio album: ‘Pro Xristou’. Translating to “Before Christ” in Greek, this album is a fervent tribute to the last Pagan kings who stood resilient against the Christian tide, safeguarding ancient values and knowledge. Dive deep into the legacies of figures like Flavius Claudius Julianus and Nordic mythological kings through tracks such as "The Apostate" and "Ygdrassil".
‘Pro Xristou’ encapsulates the essence of Rotting Christ's signature style - a melodic symphony with moments of unyielding harshness.
For fans of NIGHTFALL, MOONSPELL, SEPTICFLESH, PRIMORDIAL, VARATHRON.
CD in deluxe Digipak with 20-page booklet.
While the songs would eventually appear on ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’, 'Life Eternal’ reveals how MAYHEM’s first full-length album became a foundational pillar for black metal.
These five rough mixes were recorded with original guitarist Øystein “Euronymous” Aarseth. Attila Csihar toils with different vocal takes, especially on “Pagan Fears”, which somehow sounds even more wicked than the final version. And while it was ultimately left on the cutting room floor, the pummeling drum flurry that opens this cut of “Funeral Fog” is vintage Hellhammer.
‘Life Eternal’ is a wild artifact from the most insane black metal band of all time.
For fans of DARKTHRONE, GORGOROTH, IMMORTAL, WATAIN, 1349
Drudkh deliver black metal poetry at its finest. Based on Ukrainian poetry and presented in a lush 10-panel Digipak, the tracks on this compilation perfectly combine harshness, epic melodies and a touch of folklore, transforming them into black metal masterpieces.
With the new album "They Often See Dreams About the Spring" DRUDKH's traditional black metal sweeps in like a cold wind from the East. Timeless frozen melodies adorn an uncompromising attack, creating yet another epic work from one of the genre's most important bands.
