The very earliest works of the kings of sickness, Autopsy!

Following the band's 30th anniversary, Critical Madness: The Demo Years compiles the earliest recordings by the kings of sickness.

Chronicling the band's formative years, the collection contains Autopsy’s first demo from 1987 as well as 1988’s legendary Critical Madness demo (which quickly resulted in the band inking a deal with Peaceville and the subsequent release of the genre staple debut, 1989’s Severed Survival).

This special archive release is completed by the rare track Christ Denied and a selection of raw rehearsal recordings from 1987 and 1988, most of which would later feature on the band’s studio debut.

Stand-alone vinyl release containing Autopsy’s studio tracks originally recorded for the ‘All Tomorrow’s Funerals’ collection, plus the ‘Horrific Obsession’ 7” tracks.

‘Sign of the Corpse’ contains Autopsy’s original studio tracks recorded for the ‘All Tomorrow’s Funerals’ collection in 2012. Hot on the heels of their triumphant comeback opus ‘Macabre Eternal’, Autopsy continued where they left off with a set of gore-soaked ditties to strangulate the senses with their highly influential brand of death metal. The release also contains a re-recorded version of early Autopsy classic, ‘Mauled to Death’. Also included on ‘Sign of the Corpse’ are the 2 tracks from the ‘Horrific Obsession’ 7” release in 2009 which contained Autopsy’s first studio output in 15 years, originally recorded to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band’s debut. All tracks were recorded at Fantasy Studio, CA with Adam Munoz. One of the early breed of US death metal acts, Autopsy formed in 1987 in San Francisco, & originally released 4 albums on Peaceville Records - beginning with the classic debut 'Severed Survival' in 1989 - before disbanding in 1995, with members going on to form Abscess.

Messa play evoking doom metal with a dark jazz twist. Deliciously haunting female vocals, rhodes piano and 70’s fuzz guitars combine to conjure a sound that is all of their own. With influences as diverse as Windhand, Bohren Und Der Club Of Gore, The Devil’s Blood, Jex Thoth, Angelo Badalamenti, Bellwitch, Urfaust, John Coltrane and Aluk Todolo, the band has moved from the droning occult doom of their first LP ‘Belfry’ to a new, darker and more atmospheric approach clearly showcased in their new record ‘Feast for Water’, a concept album centered on the introspective, symbolic and ritual features of the liquid element.

The Crestfallen was Anathema's debut release for Peaceville and contained re-worked tracks from the legendary All Faith Is Lost demo in addition to new material.

Although sounding very different from what Anathema became, The Crestfallen clearly shows a band with an exceptional grasp of melody and atmosphere.

The brooding doom-heavy compositions and poetic landscapes effortlessly fluctuate between brutality (accentuated by the 'growled' vocals of then singer Darren White) and beauty on tracks such as The Sweet Suffering and the now classic They Die.

The Crestfallen set the stage for Anathema's debut full-length LP Serenades, which further expanded upon the band's singular approach and displayed a body of influences that stretched well beyond the confines of Metal.

The Crestfallen was recorded at Academy Studios (Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, etc) in 1992, and was produced by Keith Appleton.

This edition is presented on 180g heavyweight black vinyl.

Vent Fantôme' is a piece consisting of 2 unique songs of Wintery black drone, a la Neige et Noirceur
Its been composed to be played live first (in 2016/2017) but then recorded in their own studio to be released on tape-cassette by Les Fleurs du Mal prod.
'Vent Fantôme' is right now under production process and will be released by Avantgarde Music as numbered extra limited vinyl to keep it a special release as it sounds, and digipack cd.

Reissue of long sold out Barghest demo cassette, "Alsæla Gegnum Endurfæðingu" comes now as single side vinyl with laser etching on side B

The music creates a suffocating atmosphere of black doom, distorted, sometimes ponderous in its pacing, and crafted around bleak melodies. Interestingly, as in the case of Svartidauði, the bass often plays a prominent role in the music, and there’s some interesting black-prog guitar noise to accompany the skittering tremolo melody in the EP’s long second track, which is my favorite. The title track is also quite dynamic, with dramatic changes in pace and intensity and more of that creative guitar dissonance.
