"Death After Life" was the lucky successor of the incredible "Mondo Medicale". The 2005 album was instantly recognized as another fine collection of medically-themed lyrics and brutal sound. Once again, Impaled delivered a relentless assault: crushing guitar riffs, blast beats and guttural vocals. Critics and fans praised the album's groove, memorable hooks, and well-placed melodic guitar lines and harmonies.
Coming from an undisclosed mid-European country, Grimovetust emerges from the depths of darkness in 2025. Its sole architect, known only as Grimovetust, has never revealed his true identity, nor has he ever performed live in this form. Some say he is not new to black metal scene, having performed in other bands, but nothing has been confirmed.
Grimovetust is a raw, unyielding monolith of classic black metal, steeped in a pervasive atmosphere of ancient dread and cosmic desolation. The production is intentionally old-school with a cavernous, distant feel that evokes the sensation of listening to a forgotten ritual unfold in a windswept, ruined churches.

The idea for an album trilogy stems from GREEN CARNATION’s earliest yesteryears, but the first part of ‘A Dark Poem’ cites various passages from across their illustrious cannon. Lead single “In Your Paradise” reaches newfound peaks of heaviness, swept out to sea by sublime riffs and somber symphonic flourishes. While navigated with the band’s familiar mastery, the view from ‘The Shores of Melancholia’ is far from heavenly. Judgement day appears around every corner, steering them from the title track’s scarlet clouds of war toward Floydian whirlpools drenched in paranoia before being shipwrecked by second wave black metal.
“A lesson learned, now bridges burn”, bearded captain Kjetil Nordhus cries out with impassioned cleans, as if tied to the mast during the album’s fiery send-off.
