House of Mythology proudly presents the official release of Ulver’s monumental Grieghallen concert from the 2018 Bergen International Festival.

Grieghallen 20180528 documents the pinnacle of Ulver’s 2017–2018 touring cycle, following the release of their landmark album The Assassination of Julius Caesar. A massive explosion of sound and light went off in Bergen that night, leaving the baffled audience floating somewhere between pleasure and fear.

Professionally multitracked by the Bright AS stage tech team, Kristoffer Rygg and Anders Møller were asked to mix the tracks for the 2020 “streaming edition” of the same festival. After having circulated as a YouTube bootleg, it is now being made official partly due to popular demand, and partly because we think of it as a magnificent companion piece to the studio version of Caesar – showing Ulver at the height of their live game.

First official Cd release for this absolute masterpiece of Swedish Melodic Black Metal. “Härskare Över Stjärnorna Och Mina Drömmar”, the only work in Vinterkrig's discography, was recorded at Peter Tägtgren’s The Abyss Studio and mixed by Mikael Hedlund back in 1997. Catchy melodies and gloomy atmospheres carved in ice to keep alive the pure essence of the 90s. Featuring Martin Lopez on drums and Martin Mendenz on guitars (Opeth). Available in limited edition Digipak Cd of 300 copies hand-numbered.

With an inception going back 13 years in time, German entity Moribund Mantras has summoned a poignant blend of Doom, Black, and Post-Metal throughout two full-length records and three EPs, ever refined in its expressive touch and ardor. Now, following the colossal opus entitled “Golden Void”, the German quintet stares back into the abyss with five new mantras of roaring occult force, a fiery extended play aptly branded “…of Fathomless Depths”. Diving into deep spheres, one faces penetrating layers of sound, chilling mammoth riffs carrying the weight of the world, whether through vicious heaviness or heart-stirring bursts of melody. Moribund Mantras enter the soul of the listener as it surrenders its spirit. “…of Fathomless Depths” marks the first time the group recorded and mixed its songs by themselves and the intensity of the awareness to the detail fully enhances Moribund Mantras’ vision. Varied, tense, and highly expressive, these sonic endeavors are manifested through one particularly organic and utterly dynamic rhythmic section which, with the complicity of the riffing electrical storm, casts an aura of dreamy solemnity. From the haunted shores of purgatory, a spectral entity cryptically summoned as Nahasheol rose from a cauldron of ominous shade carrying a will of draconian fire. With an inception dating back to last year, the enigma twisted waves under the sign of “Kaaosoth”, a three-song tome bursting with sinister ecstasy and sheer darkness. Now, a new vortex has been carved, a pathway into the realms of timeless chaos is unchained. Enter “Serpens Abyssi”! From the first moments of the belligerent opening “Arcanum Mortuus”, Nahasheol set the pathway to its journey, crafted from the nether regions with a blazing ardor of Black Metal devilry. Whether through fast impending rages of visceral wrath or alluring melodic strokes, a scorching ordeal of unholy riffing engraves a spiritual trail to the Luciferian mysteries with a poisonous drive, destructive electrical compulsions which permeate the whole record, ever hardening and potent, as varied as reeking with the essence of Black Metal tradition.

A rider, burdened by a past which grows like a tumor inside of him, struggles against himself and loses - he chooses the rope. During what would be his last breath, he is instead given a second chance by forces beyond his comprehension, under the condition that he carries out a quest he thinks impossible. The rider flees, frightened of his own potential for greatness or for failure - but no matter how far he rides, destiny is not so easily dissuaded...

For better or worse, whether he wishes it or not, no man on this earth rides alone. We are all of us bound together, heart to heart and soul to soul -- all of us bit players in stories bigger than we know - stories we have no hand in writing. This is one of those stories - a story of friendship, love and war.
