With no shortage of bands striving for anonymity purely for imagery and the sake of being “mysteriious”, draped in cloth from top to toe, there are still those who prefer lurking in the shadows without documenting it on various social media platforms.
With nothing from the past to reference, with no egos up front and center, and with no previous bands to name drop, Misotheist has only the music to showcase - which speaks for itself. Striking out from the darkness like a razor sharp knife, this sonorous and merciless first release leaves a compulsion for more.

These songs revolve around the transformation from man to The Übermensch (German for "Overman, Overhuman, Superman, Superhuman), through the purification of the fire and the metaphor of the warrior, mainly taking inspiration from parts of Vijnanabhairava as well as personal experiences of meditation.
Fire is the main element manifested by Shiva, seen as a purifying factor and dissolving, regenerating and annihilating.
In this case also seen as the awakening of a burning and dissolving energy, which brings chaos and destroys the boundaries of mortality to reach immortality.

Lucifericon‘s first full-length recording, Al-Khem-Me. Tongue-twistingly titled but aptly so, Al-Khem-Me keeps apace with the developments of Brimstone Altar and further masters the art of the “patient payoff.” Its blackened DEATH literally explodes from the very first seconds, but the band’s songwriting builds detail upon subtle detail despite the obvious aggression employed. Utterly gnarled and gnarling, the lurch ‘n’ lunge across Al-Khem-Me creates a bewilderingly slipstreaming effect, dragging the listener into a distant, nameless vortex, but always with a keen knack for memorability. For above alll, this is METAL, unbending and unyielding, forged in fire and weilded as a weapon; it just so happens that Lucifericon‘s is one fully set on attack, its intensity steeped in the grand traditions of late ’80s / early ’90s death.
The music within this album holds so much of what has come to define us as a band, until now chiefly showcased in its live incarnation, ranging from the rabid, unruly primitivism of our early days to the ominous, slightly surreal atmospheres we began to explore later on. There is material here as old as ten years and even more, as well as what would be considered brand new (by us, anyway, Trondheim time applies). "Worlds open, and worlds, they truly collide!"
