My Dying Bride has been one of the foremost & consistent leading lights in doom metal since their debut album "As The Flower Withers" was released on Peaceville Records back in 1992. Influenced by acts such as Celtic Frost & Candlemass, the band's heavy atmospherics have carved a huge worldwide following over the years to stand at the pinnacle of the genre, & remain one of the most instantly distinguishable metal bands.
My Dying Bride released three albums & as many EP's before launching the massive opus ‘Like Gods Of The Sun’ in 1996, as the band’s popularity was hitting a high point in the wake of successful touring with fellow British Metal heroes Iron Maiden on the back of the previous breakthrough release, the equally revered ‘The Angel & The Dark River’. Upon release, ‘Like Gods Of The Sun’ became a huge hit among the world's metal press & fans alike, further cementing My Dying Bride’s legacy as one of the UK’s most accomplished & important extreme metal acts, with their perfected style of gothic doom evolving into a streamlined & impactful combination of tracks to stunning effect.
‘Like Gods Of The Sun’ was recorded at the infamous Academy Studios (Paradise Lost, Anathema) in Yorkshire, UK, with long-time producer, Mags.
This special 30th anniversary edition of 'Like Gods Of The Sun' features a new half-speed audio master, & is presented on limited "Lagoon" vinyl.

No rest for one of Britain’s most melancholic exports: Just half a year after MY DYING BRIDE returned from their break with their haunting and successful masterpiece »The Ghost Of Orion«, the sons of Halifax raise the curtains to the »Macabre Cabaret«.
The new EP of the band offers three new songs – dark luscious Death Doom ear candies that will dive their victim into a sensual world of darkness and temptation and conceal the borders between sweet pain and destructive illusion.
DYING BRIDE'S CLASSIC 1996 SHOW FROM KRAKOW, POLAND
My Dying Bride has been the leading light of doom metal since the debut album ‘As The Flower Withers’ was released on Peaceville Records back in 1992. Influenced by acts such as Celtic Frost and Candlemass, the British band’s heavy atmospherics have carved a huge worldwide following over the years to stand as one of the true enduring and distinguishable pillars of the genre.
'For Darkest Eyes' contains the band’s iconic 1996 performance from Krakow, Poland, featuring numerous classic doom anthems from the early career of the UK Metal Gods. The show was filmed as the band was riding a wave of popularity due to their recent breakthrough third album, 'The Angel & the Dark River' (plus their tour with British metal legends Iron Maiden in the winter of 1995), showcasing several tracks from that release such as 'The Cry of Mankind' and 'Your Shameful Heaven', as well as renditions of other established numbers such as 'The Crown of Sympathy' and 'The Forever People'.
