The promise of Eternal Life has been the crucial subject in which numerous religions and spiritual beliefs have based their foundations on. For the idea of non-existence is as troubling and inconceivable for humans as infinite itself, on the other hand, the thought of interminably experiencing more from a reality we are so accustomed to brings comfort to more than one soul. Innocence is bliss, and being forever shields us from turning our eyes to the dreadful horror of the unknown, the black pit of nothingness, the void. But it's within its contemplation that lies the secret knowledge.
"The Self-Aware Frequency", explores the mind of a cognizant being trapped within the cosmically interwoven pattern that embeds reality. The character's universe is the music itself, through which it navigates, as a sum of temporal frequencies who slowly gain consciousness, evolving across the songs, until the ultimate realization of its own undeniable truth.
The album combines elements of electronic, industrial, classical, film score, heavy metal, progressive rock, and even pop to create something unique, challenging, and engaging. Fans of forward-thinking artists such as Devil Doll, Mike Patton, Leprous, Ulver, Manes, Pain of Salvation, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Devin Townsend, Vulture Industries, and Arcturus should rejoice in the musical world illuminated throughout the album.
International guest appearances are performed by Bor Zuljan (Devil Doll), Øyvind "Mustis" Mustaparta (ex-Dimmu Borgir), Juan Manuel Flores (Cuarteto Cromano), Goran Setitus (Omnia Moritur, ex-Setherial), Alasdair Dunn (Ashenspire), Przemyslaw Kajnat (Eternal Deformity, Allone), and Lotti Wood (Woodwindz).

Sgàile is the solo project of Scottish multi-instrumentalist Tony Dunn, a venture that was a long time in the making due to Dunn’s commitments with other bands such as Falloch, Cnoc An Tursa and Saor. “For almost a decade, I had concentrated on playing other people's songs, singing other people's lyrics, and not feeling that I had an identity of my own. The name Sgàile means "ghost" or "shade" in Gaelic, and this was born from the fact that I didn't quite "fit in" with the Scottish Black Metal scene that these bands were an integral part of”.
In August 2018, Dunn parted ways with Saor in an amicable manner. It was then and there that “I decided to really concentrate on putting out a body of work that I could put my own name to and be proud of”. Sgàile was officially born. Ideals & Morality was conceived, composed and recorded in most of its parts in late 2019/early 2020. At this point Mike Lamb (Sojourner, Light Field Reverie) was brought on board for the mixing and mastering. “He had a look at the quality of the recordings, and gave me a great deal of advice, so much that in late summer 2020 we decided the best course of action was to re-record all of the guitars and bass from scratch. So in essence, Ideals & Morality was recorded twice”.
Musically and lyrically, Sgàile’s debut is an emotional record. “It is a record that I feel is both melancholy and quite dark in places, but uplifting and inspiring in others, as during the recording sessions I felt like I was in quite a low place at times mentally, but the actual writing process itself lifted my spirits. I feel that the album certainly has the potential to both haunt and elate in equal measure”. Lyrically, it's almost a stream of consciousness of various aspects of Tony’s psyche, dealing with his love for Scottish mountains (“The Summit”), the feeling of becoming a parent (“Instinct”) or even the experiences of the past decade (“Facade”). Every song comes from its own background, making Ideals & Morality a multifaceted experience. “The album is almost like a peek at what goes on inside my head. My ideals and my moral compass are what have guided me on my path as an artist since being thrust into the music industry and will stick with me through the rest of my journey, wherever that may lead”.

Unpredictable, challenging and intricate Black Metal from Trondheim, Norway. What separates this band from the ‘usual Terratur releases’, whatever that really means, is the intense technical variations of this band. At times so dissonant it gets you to a breaking point, only to be left marveled by another genius twist with their ingenious songwriting. I stand in ave! Although the resemblance to a certain French act springs to mind, ISSOLEI delivers something unique if you ask me. Play loud repeatedly to fully grasp it all, this band requires your full attention.
When drummer/vocalist Proscriptor McGovern (Russ R. Givens) dissolved Absu on January 27th 2020, his main intention was to splinter the 30-year old faction into a renewed songwriting concord. Proscriptor McGovern’s Apsû is the obvious by-product of that chemical breakdown, which constitutes a new incarnation and direct continuation of Absu’s legacy. Securing the ranks, alongside McGovern, are continuing bassist/vocalist Ezezu (Absu: 2008-2020), new guitar virtuoso Vaggreaz (Possessed, Gruesome) and keyboardist Vorskaath (Zemial, Agatus). Since Absu’s last, unreleased album was to be penned as “Apsû,” McGovern fused the title with his name to form the group. With this much anticipated, self-titled album, McGovern’s objective was to append the signature sound of “mythological occult metal,” but to convolute it with bouts of psychedelia, fusion and vintage electronics. Written for those who are curious and unwearied in their quest of arcane knowledge, the album was chronicled at studios around the world and features an exclusive set of gues

A true journey within the Kingdom of Erang & the Land of the Five Seasons. Each track was built like a mini-movie that takes place in a much bigger picture within my own world.
Musically, I've been inspired by the 70's aesthetic and it's a mix of many of my childhood & teen memories and influences: some are obvious, others more burried...
Swiss black metal void sculptors DSKNT are back with their immense sophomore LP "Vacuum γ-Noise Transition", a devouring nightmare of omnipotent sonic annihilation conceived at the most liminal edges of sanity. The reality-destroying album takes shape as a dark and multidimensional hallucination deep into reality's most cryptic and terrifying truths, a place where entropy and chaos assume near-corporeal and hyper-realist forms, becoming empirical laws and axioms of all manifestations therein, with the music serving as the abhorrent mathematical key that allows the listener to unlock this realm beyond and "see" the horrors that populate reality beyond the reach of the five senses and of the terrestrial dimension. Harrowingly evocative and devastating beyond comprehension, "Vacuum γ-Noise Transition" assumes its hideous form through a ravaging maze of managed guitar fractals, eviscerating compositional deconstructionism and an inhuman event horizon of decaying soundscapes and oppressive atmospheres that dismantle the listener piece by piece, forcing mind and soul apart to disintegrate in each other's reflection.

Godsend, traditional doom metal by the mastermind Dan Swanö with cover art itself incredibly eerie, menacing, and rather atmospheric
Neon magenta w/ black & mustard yellow splatter vinyl version!!! Vancouver’s Auroch return with new music for the first time in nearly four years. The new mini-album Stolen Angelic Tongues draws upon the magical and spiritual traditions of South America and the Caribbean as their histories, past and present, represent a microcosm of the great spiritual rebellion that has been the band’s inspiration throughout its singular discography. An ever-evolving beast of the deep, here Auroch conjure vicious black / death spells of occult necromancy and technical sorcery, making manifest a dark vision of obscure magic. Returning to the fold is original vocalist Culain who here summons demons of the abyssic fire with savage equanimity. Joining with their Covenant Circle brethren in Night Profound and Aos Si, eerie ambient recordings bookend the concept piece to dramatic effect. The CD version of the release, re-titled All The Names Of Night not only includes the Stolen Angelic Tongues mini-album, but compiles three additional tracks from the earlier age of Auroch, including their Seven Veils EP tracks and their contribution to the split with Mitochondrion, representing an evolutionary document of the bands trajectory through it’s first phase.
