All 14 songs on this compilation were recorded by the first line-up of DEATH SS which included Steve Sylvester on vocals, Paul Chain on guitar and keyboards, Claud Galley on rhythm guitar - Danny Hughes on bass and Tommy hand Chaste on drums From track 1 to track 7 are mostly unreleased home demo versions including the original intros They are therefore (apart from Terror) not the same versions that appeared on The Story of Death SS, bootleg released by Minotauro in 1987 From the 8th track onwards they are recorded in the studio and are therefore recorded at a higher levelExcept for songs 11 and 12 which are live versions, the only ones existing of that line-up (there was one with Santhis Ghoram on vocals, sung phonetically in 1984 and present on The Story or those remade by DEATH SS in 1995 with Steve Sylvester but played by other musicians, present on Horror Music) Another peculiarity is that this is the only disc that collects all the existing songs recorded by this line-up! Each track was then remastered and personally optimised by Steve Sylvester! Formed in 2010 by famed American black metal musician Jeff Wilson (formerly of Abigail Williams, Wolvhammer, and Nachtmystium) and drummer Bob Fouts (formerly of The Gates of Slumber and Apostle of Solitude), the group released a self-titled post-black metal EP in 2012 before going totally silent. It was unfortunate as the EP was quite good, eschewing the style’s typical melodrama in favor of grounded riffs that recalled a more understated version of An Autumn for Crippled Children. Seven years later, the band has recruited vocalist James Benson (Amiensus) for their long-awaited full-length debut, A Grief Observed

Following the incredible success of the debut, the second full length, entitled ”Militant, Penitent, Triumphant”, builds on this rock solid foundation. It showcases the unique sound and song structures that so many people appreciated about “Six Voices Inside”, thus making it instantly recognizable as none other than Faidra. To keep that typical sound and atmosphere was indeed a very conscious decision. The familiar structures, ambient synth sounds and slow tempos from the first album are present and continue that tradition, while also including occasional new elements and influences.

The work on this new album started almost immediately after the release of the debut album, knowing that it would take a long time to complete because of rather limited free time. The project was worked on from time to time during almost three years without a consistent work flow, where sometimes months passed by without a single note recorded.

Where the debut tackled a lot of different subjects, the new album has a very specific theme running through almost every track. The larger concept handles the themes of sin, penitence and redemption; also mirroring the title of the album, which are the three states of the Catholic church.

Faidra is a Swedish Atmospheric/Orthodox Black Metal solo project that formed during late summer of 2019. The music is primarily inspired by Scandinavian Black Metal of the early 90s, with Burzum being perhaps the most prominent influence. The man behind Faidra has played in various bands of different genres since the late 90's, and for Faidra chose to keep his identity undisclosed in order to let the music speak for itself.

This album features the song "Hagalaz" from the split with Dreams of Nature that was only available on CD until now, as well as an unreleased demo version of "Spirit of the North" from 2015 on side A, and on the B-side the previously unreleased demo song "Entering Eldamar" from 2015 - a fantastic 15 minutes opus that showcases a much darker and more melancholic side of Eldamar. Dwarrowdelf is back with their new full length album, Of Dying Lights, delving deeper into the lore of Tolkien. This album contains seven tracks of epic metal, one being a cover of both Sojourner and Summoning melded together into an incredible journey of a song. Moving more into his own style with each offering, this is an incredible album.

Dwarrowdelf is a solo-project from the UK. It first made waves in the Atmospheric Black Metal world in 2018, with debut full-length “The Sons of Fëanor”, released to critical acclaim. A follow-up, “Of Dying Lights” was released in 2019, and saw the project start to move away from the Summoning-inspired sound of the debut, incorporating only sung vocals.

"Evenstar" is the third full-length album from Dwarrowdelf and their most unique offering to date, also using live (session) drums for the first time. Following the journey of Aragorn and his quest to earn Arwen's hand in marriage, this record sees Dwarrowdelf incorporating wider Melodeath and Folk Metal influences into their particular brand of Atmospheric Metal to create a truly unique musical journey.
