It has been seven long years since MAYHEM released their fourth and latest full-length ‘Ordo ad Chao’. Rejuvenated by the recruitment of Teloch (of NIDINGR fame) in replacement of iconic guitarist / composer Blasphemer who left the fold in 2008, the spearhead of Black Metal is back stronger than ever before with a new album. ‘Esoteric Warfare’ demonstrates how perfectly Teloch has captured the essence and spirit of the Norwegian legend by linking the band back to its roots, while at the same time taking a step forward into the leading position of the genre instead of dwelling in nostalgia. ‘Esoteric Warfare’ is a full-scale assault of total dark savagery, where Attila's inhumane vocals are entirely based on a concept dealing with the esoteric experimentations of the nuclear powers during the cold war.

Mayhem need no introduction. Mayhem, the Norwegian pioneers responsible for invigorating the global Metal scene, alongside the likes of Venom, Celtic Frost and Bathory, formed in 1984. With a long history of tragedy, intrigue and infamy behind them, the band have become truly revered legends of Black Metal, with a large part of their legacy established in the late 1980s & early 1990s (when guitarist Euronymous and bassist Necrobutcher welcomed Hellhammer on drums and Dead on vocals, to help shape a new era of darkness and Armageddon).
Henhouse Recordings contains tracks from Mayhem’s rehearsal sessions from 1989, featuring material from the Deathcrush release, and also tracks which would eventually surface in 1994 on the band’s debut album, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas. A never-released track is also included, parts of which would later be used by Norwegian legends, Emperor. One of only a handful of Mayhem recordings to feature iconic vocalist, Per “Dead” Ohlin before his suicide in 1991, Henhouse Recordings is another essential piece of Black Metal history.

In 2018, "Grand Declaration of War" MAYHEM’s second album (2000) has been completely remixed and remastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano in the Orgone Studios (UK). It offers a very new approach of this cult album.
He comments on the remaster: "It was a challenging remix to do, starting with the now obsolete format it was recorded in (ADAT). […] I ended up mastering the album to analogue tape to get a bit more warmth, depth and bottom end.
