CD edition of Live in Zeitz, which features the classic line-up of Euronymous, Dead, Necrobutcher and Hellhammer performing iconic tracks on their now-legendary 1990 tour.
Taken from a new and improved audio source, this definitive edition of Live in Zeitz presents the chaotic sound and dark atmosphere of the show with a greater level of clarity, while maintaining the rawness of Mayhem's live attack.
The CD includes a booklet containing new interviews with band members, friends and close associates of the band, plus previously unseen images.
Pressed on 180g black vinyl, this is the first official release of recordings of the classic Mayhem line-up performing in Jessheim, Norway in 1990.
Live in Jessheim concludes Peaceville’s series of the legendary band's four recorded shows. Featuring the line-up of Euronymous, Dead, Hellhammer and Necrobutcher, this is one of only a handful of recordings featuring the Norwegian Black Metal quartet during arguably their most influential period, as they forged a truly unique sound (prior to going on to almost single-handedly inspire a whole scene).
This green vinyl edition of Live in Jessheim features audio taken from a new source. The release includes an 8 page booklet containing rare photos, extensive interviews with figures such as Snorre Ruch (Thorns, ex-Mayhem) and Maniac (ex-Mayhem), plus information on the events surrounding the show (which took place on 03/02/1990 and featured timeless Mayhem tracks, including Deathcrush, Funeral Fog and Freezing Moon).
Mayhem need no introduction. The legendary band has been a league of their own ever since their formation in the eighties. “Wolf’s Lair Abyss” was originally released in 1997 and is now proudly being re-issued on all formats via Soulseller Records. Carefully constructed from its original release, including original hand-written lyrics by Maniac, additional pictures and the “Ancient Skin/Necrolust” ep as bonus tracks this ultimate re-issue is a gem not to be missed.
Ltd mediabook edition incl. 2 bonus tracks
The most notorious black metal band of all times is back! By the power of darkness and the might of black-hearted will no two Mayhem albums have been or will be the same. Thus, the newest offering “Daemon” is unto itself. It’s not the next chapter but rather the next tome in Mayhem’s authoritative oeuvre. Composed and decomposed with the same lineup—Necrobutcher (bass), Hellhammer (drums), Attila Csihar (vocals), Teloch (guitars), and Ghul (guitars)—that handled “Esoteric Warfare” and performed “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas” in its entirety over the last few years, “Daemon” also isn’t a retrofit of classic songs like “Freezing Moon,” “Pagan Fears,” or “Buried by Time and Dust.” That’s what the live album, “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive” (2016), was for. “Daemon” is a chance for change, for new hells to be envisioned and offered.
‘Henhouse Recordings’ contains tracks from Mayhem’s rehearsal sessions conducted at their rehearsal place in 1989, featuring material from the ‘Deathcrush’ release and tracks which would eventually surface in 1994 on the band’s debut album, ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’. A never-released track is also included, parts of which would later be used by Norwegian legends, Emperor.
One of only a handful of Mayhem recordings to feature iconic vocalist, Per “Dead” Ohlin before his suicide in 1991, ‘Henhouse Recordings’ is another essential piece of black material history and on vinyl 30 years after the recordings took place. Presented on vinyl format including cover artwork featuring an image of the Henhouse location itself.
