«De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas» is often considered to be the most important Black Metal album of all time. The legendary Pytten can be quoted on saying “it was the next big thing after Grieg”, and we couldn’t agree more. The album was released on Euronymous label “Deathlike Silence Productions” May 24th 1994, marked as Anti-Mosh 006. We are proud to honour this timeless album with the release of the 25th Anniversary Box Set with the help and support by long time Mayhem friend Finn Håkon Rødland. The Iconic Album has been remastered for vinyl from the original DAT tapes by Solslottet Studio, with guidance from Pytten himself and approved by Hellhammer. The cover art and packaging will for the first time be presented as Hellhammer originally envisioned it back in 93/94, including also the lyric scroll booklet. Also included are four additional vinyls with stunning artwork consisting of two different rehearsal sessions in Oslo from February and May 1992, taken directly from tapes Euronymous made, the instrumental rough mix from Grieghallen June 1992, and the rough mix with vocals from the tape Attila got after the vocal recordings in April/May 1993. The Box Set will include a 96 page book with a series of in depth interviews casting Light and Darkness on the recording process and the glory days of Mayhem making history in the early 90’s, such as Pytten, Hellhammer, Attila, Necrobutcher, Nocturno Culto of Darkthrone, Bård `Faust” Eithun of Emperor, Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir, Dr. Best of Mysticum, Steinar “Sverd” Johnsen of Mortem/Arcturus, Erik Danielsson of Watain, Tore Bratseth of Old Funeral, Ivar and Grutle of Enslaved, HBM Majesty of Mare/Vemod/Dark Sonority, Nergal of Behemoth, Silenoz of Dimmu Borgir and Jørgen Lid Widing (lyric scrolls). Liner notes by Finn Håkon Rødland, Metalion, Iver Sandøy of Solslottet studio, and Maniac. The Book will include the original handwritten lyrics by Dead and Snorre, plus never before seen photos from the DMDS photo session, presented here for the very first time. Mayhem’s ‘Life Eternal’ is a documentation of Attila Csihar’s first journey to Norway in 1993. Taken from tapes Attila made during the vocal recording session in Bergen, it features different vocal-styles at times, as well as the drum intro of ‘Funeral Fog’ that was cut from ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’. These 5 songs are taken from the recording session of 'De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas', but they are a different, rough studio mix.

Mayhem, the Norwegian pioneers responsible for invigorating the global Metal scene, alongside the likes of Venom, Celtic Frost and Bathory, formed in 1984. With a long history of tragedy, intrigue and infamy behind them, the band have become truly revered legends of Black Metal, with a large part of their legacy established in the late 1980s & early 1990s  (when guitarist Euronymous and bassist Necrobutcher welcomed Hellhammer on drums and Dead on vocals, to help shape a new era of darkness and Armageddon). 

Henhouse Recordings contains tracks from Mayhem’s rehearsal sessions from 1989, featuring material from the Deathcrush release, and also tracks which would eventually surface in 1994 on the band’s debut album, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas. A never-released track is also included, parts of which would later be used by Norwegian legends, Emperor. One of only a handful of Mayhem recordings to feature iconic vocalist, Per “Dead” Ohlin before his suicide in 1991, Henhouse Recordings is another essential piece of Black Metal history.

Composed and decomposed with the same lineup—Necrobutcher (bass), Hellhammer (drums), Attila Csihar (vocals), Teloch (guitars), and Ghul (guitars)—that handled “Esoteric Warfare” and performed “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas” in its entirety over the last few years, “Daemon” also isn’t a retrofit of classic songs like “Freezing Moon,” “Pagan Fears,” or “Buried by Time and Dust.” That’s what the live album, “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive” (2016), was for. “Daemon” is a chance for change, for new hells to be envisioned and offered.

‘Out from the Dark’ features a rare & ferocious rehearsal from the Mayhem archive which was recorded back in 1989 and is a chance to hear tracks from the quartet’s early years in all their raw and brutal glory, including classics such as ‘Freezing Moon’, ‘Funeral Fog’ & ‘Deathcrush’. The band would embark upon a serious of live shows in Norway and Germany the following year which would eventually go down in black metal legend, with those recordings also now immortalised.

Live in Jessheim concludes Peaceville’s series of the legendary band's four recorded shows. Featuring the line-up of Euronymous, Dead, Hellhammer and Necrobutcher, this is one of only a handful of recordings featuring the Norwegian Black Metal quartet during arguably their most influential period, as they forged a truly unique sound (prior to going on to almost single-handedly inspire a whole scene).

In 2018, "Grand Declaration of War" MAYHEM’s second album (2000) has been completely remixed and remastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano in the Orgone Studios (UK). It offers a very new approach of this cult album.
He comments on the remaster: "It was a challenging remix to do, starting with the now obsolete format it was recorded in (ADAT). […] I ended up mastering the album to analogue tape to get a bit more warmth, depth and bottom end.
