Glorious and raw Black Metal from Norway, VORGFANG is a formation deeply rooted in the ’90s Scandinavian sound. It’s creator, GGATZSHRIIEGK, first released VORGFANG’s debut album “Skammens Stein” in vinyl with Altare productions, then in cassette tape with Vonindod Creations in early 2022. It was time for Drakkar to honor this production with a very limited CD Digipack version (200 copies only!)

Four years and one pandemic on from Orificial Purge, Vastum, the longest running band on the 20 Buck Spin roster, offers up its fifth bludgeoning document of psychic malaise and lost faith with ‘Inward To Gethsemane’. As before, the abject disgust unsparingly captured in Vastum’s unique approach continues to drape the music with an aura of discomfiting unease. The cavernous density Vastum has made a core element of its discography remains as inhuman as ever, continuing to delve into darker atmospheres, yet never devolving into ambient murk; on the contrary it’s always punishing and with a fearsome momentum. The distinctively harrowing dual vocal attack of Daniel Butler and Leila Abdul-Rauf appears throughout ‘Inward…’; the possessed narrators of Vastum’s hellish underworld. Eight minute album closer ‘Corpus Fractum’ manifests a transformative and even experimental side of Vastum musically and vocally, while sustaining the characteristic merciless power the band is revered for across its five albums. Between the sporadic but legendary live performances and a worshipped discography of modern era true Death Metal, Vastum has become a torchbearer of the grisly and grotesque underground, both within its native Bay Area and well beyond. ‘Inward to Gethsemane’ carves another notch in Vastum’s totem of deviance.

Trenchant marched forward from the hardened heart of Texas in 2016.
Formed by NRS, TND, and GRA, the band made their official debut with the 2018 EP, Martial Chaos, and subsequently released their full-length CD, Commandoccult, on Godz Ov War Productions in 2022.

The band’s profile has continued to rise with the addition of LRA on second guitar for live appearances across the US, with Commandoccult gaining wide acclaim in the underground. Trenchant’s brand of rapid-fire blackened death should not be regarded as simply “War Metal”; it is “World War Metal”, with martial themes revealed through deadly metaphysical channels. For adherents of acts like ANGELCORPSE, IMMORTAL, or IMMOLATION, Commandoccult is a riveting foray into musical combat. Their work is both vicious and anthemic, and it will rouse even the most stoic listener to take arms.

1986: Next to mighty BATHORY, MERCILESS, OBSCURITY and later MORBID and NIHILIST, MEFISTO were one of the first bands, which proudly hold high the flag of extreme metal underground in Sweden. Although they never made it out of the underground, these two demos are a testament to how vibrant and active the scene was in the 80’s. A scene that would cause a sensation, especially in Sweden, just a short time later…

LE MORTE is a band with two members from Richmond, Virginia in the United States. They have been writing music together since 2008, and started writing the demo outside in the winter of 2020.

Origin #02 features a collection of musical tracks and ideas that Magnus initially began crafting between 2003 and 2009. It wasn't until 2012-13 that he meticulously curated these tracks and embarked on a creative journey to bring them to completion. This album offering a diverse yet coherent palette of soundscapes and emotions.
Warm groovy rhythms set the pace while we drift through deep electronica washed by waves of ethereal pads and mesmerizing melodies.

The overarching concept of the Origin series is to breathe new life into previously unfinished musical pieces, allowing them to finally emerge into the world, free from obscurity.

Written and produced by Magnus Birgersson in Studio Jupiter, Gothenburg, Sweden and remastered by Robert Elster in 2023.
