Winternius is a Black Rising Metal band founded in 2016 by Roby Grinder, also known as Winternius during his time with Sacradis, another seminal act in the italian black metal underground. The lineup through the years included members and former members of Sacradis, Spite Extreme Wing, Abysmal Grief and Necrodeath.
The debut album was recorded and produced by Tommy Talamanca (Sadist) at Nadir Studio, released in 2020. In March 20240, after the pandemic and an EP, Winternius recorded their second full-length album called "Underwater Darkness" and are ready to strike back in the international black metal scene with their Black Rising Metal, the way they like to call their style.
In “Underwater Darkness” you will face music starting from the extreme metal of the 90s coming from Scandinavia, blended with classic metal influences and even some progressive moments. The vocals, in particular, range from the typical black metal rasp to epic moments reminiscent of the early Borknagar.
Egocide is a relentless hybrid between the violence of Death Metal and Hardcore. Born in 2016 in the Italian HC scene, over the years they have evolved their sound towards the darkest and most ferocious territories of Death Metal today, creating a unique sonic experience that ranges from brutal aggression to technical subtlety. Their devastating stage presence has allowed the band to emerge in the Italian underground scene, attracting widespread acclaim thanks to their overwhelming performances and the power of their songs. Their intense live schedule has made their concerts unmissable, attracting enthusiastic responses from audiences who cannot resist their combination of brutality and precision.
“Mortichnia” is the final walk, the walk of death. It speaks of anger towards everything and everyone, towards society, towards the media, towards the sense of belonging. “Mortichnia” speaks of suicide, violence, depression, and blends the rage of hardcore punk with the brutality of death metal that distinguishes our tastes, with a few elements of melody, as faint as hope. The album draws inspiration from sounds such as Dying Fetus, Slayer, Discharge, and Death, thus fusing death metal with thrash metal and hard rock punk.
Bergsvriden is a folk inspired black metal band formed in 2013 by Anton "Trollmania" Tordås in Sweden. The main idea was to create a grim and swampy sound by combining old school black metal with the horrifying aspects of scandinavian folklore. The name is a combination of the word “Berg”- a mountain, and “Vriden” – which means something like “twisted/grotesque/insane”. The first release was an EP in 2015 called “I vitterhetens becksvarta gömmen” followed by two full length albums in 2017 and 2019 titled “Helsemyr” and "Skogens trolska fasa" which was released independently. In 2019 "Gastkramad" was released by Northern Fog records. They continue on the black and folk tread that the band is known for, but with a significant change in quality. With this release on Dusktone Bergsvriden was brought to a whole other level and have proven to be more than just another local band. What has been brought to life from Scandinavia and Finland cannot be stopped by trends or shifts in the music market and there’s still a burning, quite sinister school of folk and black metal around. Bergsvriden are here to prove it!
