Emerging once again from the endless darkness of Finland, MORTUALIA returns with its haunting fourth full-length album, “Cold in the Earth.” Spearheaded by the enigmatic Shatraug, the revered mastermind behind Horna and Sargeist, MORTUALIA continues its descent into the abyss with a work steeped in sorrow, isolation, and hypnotic melancholy. Following the acclaimed “Wild, Wild Misery,” this newest offering further refines the band’s signature fusion of depressive black metal and mournful doom into a cold, emotionally devastating experience.

Across seven desolate hymns, including the crushing title track “Cold in the Earth,” the somber passages of “Remembrance I & II,” and the bleakly mesmerizing “Winter’s Due,” MORTUALIA conjures an atmosphere of hopelessness and spiritual ruin unlike few others in the genre. Shatraug’s masterful songwriting once again balances raw black metal aggression with slow-burning funeral dirges, weaving memorable melodies and sorrow-drenched hooks into every shadowed corner of the album.

Info: "IV - Mythologiae" è il quarto disco del formidabile duo SLOW, autori l'anno scorso del clamoroso "V - Oceans" che li ha lanciati nel Gotha del Funeral Doom mondiale, oltre che in praticamente tutte le liste per il miglior album di settore del 2018. Questo disco usci' 3 anni fa solo in formato CD ed in pochissime copie, venendo colpevolmente ignorato dai piu'. Sulla scia del successo di "V - Oceans", code666 e gli SLOW hanno deciso di ri-pubblicarlo in una veste completamente nuova: tutte le tracce di batteria e di voce sono state registrate nuovamente come la band avrebbe voluto poter fare in origine, inoltre l'intero disco è stato mixato e masterizzato daccapo, ottenendo finalmente il suono che rende giustizia alla grandissima qualità dei brani. Non contenta, la band ha deciso di comporre e registrare una nuova traccia bonus aggiuntiva dal titolo "The Break of Dawn", che vale da sola il prezzo del disco ed infine l'intero artwork è stato ripensato e rifatto per armonizzarsi meglio al concept che la band aveva in mente. Il risultato finale è talmente impressionante da lasciare a bocca aperta: il disco finalmente fluisce ed emerge come per incanto dal guscio nel quale era rinchiuso, dimostrandosi un'autentica perla nera di angosciante e letale Funeral Doom.
