"Non chiedeteci quale possa essere il segreto degli Handful Of Hate. Forse hanno firmato un patto con il diavolo e a noi non è dato saperlo. Eppure la band toscana, arrivata al ventesimo, pesante anniversario, riesce ogni volta a stupirci pur non inventando nulla, se non sé stessa in una nuova incarnazione. “To Perdition” è la carne, il vizio, la perversione umana descritta con dovizia di particolari attraverso un canale che ben conosciamo, ovvero il black metal nella sua forma più tradizionale. Tradizionale non vuole significare necessariamente “datato” e questo, l’ensemble lo sa bene, perché “To Perdition” è l’ennesima prova di come, perpetuando uno stile ormai acquisito, gli Handful Of Hate restino una spanna (anche un po’ di più), sopra tanti altri e ben più blasonati colleghi. "Verses Of Fire's" sound has been carefully manufactured by Andrew Guillotin in Hybreed Studios. Focusing on a more organic side thanks to the use of tube amps and natural drums, the production allows the natural old-school feeling of the band to shine through the whole album. Through ten tracks, lasting about one hour, the band explores a wide spectre of extreme metal: from raging blast beats and thrashing riffs, though haunted mid tempo vibes, and up to the point of band's primal influence - the sinister sounds of early 90's black/death metal.
