FANTASTIC RE-ISSUE OF THIS CLASSIC OF AMERICAN DEATH METAL!

Super-Heavy Floridian Death Metal! This is the kind of stuff you listen to with the lights on. Not that it's easy to be scared. As the words are churned and ground to mere vocal road kill of their former selves by George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher (lead-singer). Worm Infested, the long out of print second EP by Cannibal Corpse released in 2003 through Metal Blade Records is now available on CD, cassette and 12" vinyl formats. Worm Infested is a compilation EP of tracks recorded between 1996 and 2001, featuring previously unreleased outtakes along with killer covers of songs by Accept, Possessed and Metallica. This is worth a place in any good Death Metal collection!

Giving a follow up to a masterpiece like Black shining leatherà was hard, but C.F. confirms their unique class in creating a waird opus like this, true Black Metal.
 

Formed in Kraków in 2019, Cursebinder set out to dissolve the lines between extreme metal and just about anything else. The self-produced demo EP (2020) announced the intention; the debut full-length Drifting (Avantgarde Music, April 2023) delivered on it, with forty minutes of haunting atmosphere, nuanced guitar work and shifting rhythms that earned the band a reputation for music impossible to pin down and difficult to forget.

Three years later, Psychohazard is a force with no shape and no mercy. The second full-length by Cursebinder hits harder and cuts deeper than anything they’ve done yet. Their latest release sees the band push for a more introspective, organic and life-affirming direction, circling the existential clash between the urban rat race and the human desire for love and connection.

At its center is raw human experience with all its contradictions; its veins overflow with a burning desire to look ever closer at the intangible forces that drive our lives. The band smashes their way through eight tracks of demolishing riffs dissolving into hazy atmospheres, jazz-inflected drift surfacing from the dark and layered rhythms drenched in pure psychedelic rage, baring their souls to those willing to listen. 

Their commitment to the ideas, unrelenting emotional power and the intensity of their live shows spill all over this record. So does everything else.  Unpredictable, elemental and intimate, Psychohazard is an invitation to ask the questions we’ve been avoiding.

Chelsea Wolfe torna con il suo nono album in studio, *The Dark*, proponendo un sound più organico a metà strada tra dark folk, rock gotico e alternative. Chitarre, pianoforte e batteria dal vivo si fondono con il suo songwriting più maturo di sempre e con una voce che suona più potente e sicura di sé che mai.
Dal punto di vista tematico, *The Dark* affronta temi quali il lasciar andare, la ricerca di sé e la forza di affrontare la propria oscurità. In collaborazione con il produttore Ben Chisholm e musicisti ospiti come Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails), Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint), Matt Chamberlain e Justin Meldal-Johnsen, è nato un album d’atmosfera che sviluppa ulteriormente il suono inconfondibile di Chelsea Wolfe e che piacerà sia ai fan di lunga data che ai nuovi ascoltatori.

Emerging from the shadows where it was forged, this work marks a new passage in our journey through the ever-shifting borderlands of light and darkness. Recorded and shaped between the cold months of 2024 and 2025, “Tamsošviesa / Chiaroscuro” stands as a culmination of years of devotion, reflection, and sound sculpting. It is both a continuation and a turning point – a chapter where our path through the twilight sharpens into clear focus.

For two decades, LUCTUS has walked the narrow line between shadow and light, guided by the pulse of this strange world and those who have listened along the way. With “Tamsošviesa / Chiaroscuro”, we now place another stone upon that path – deliberate, unhurried, unwavering.
