Gold and Black vinyl, limited to 200 copies
Three years after the second full-length 'Faunalia', the singer/keyboardist Selvans returns with a new EP.
'Dark Italian Art' is definitely the Manifesto of the Italian composer. Selvans confirms the prog rock and symphonic influences introducted in the previous work (with Goblin and Devil Doll ruling the roost), imprinting them definitely in his folk-horror scenery.
The EP introduces 'Corvo Morto' (Italian for 'Dead Crow'), a character created by Selvans in collaboration with the horror writer Luigi Musolino and to whom the track 'Verrà Corvo Morto' (Italian for 'Corvo Morto will come') is connected, as well as the homonimous tale attached to the 80 pages digi-book version of the EP.
Aside from the second new track 'Iò Pan!' and the outro 'L'Errante', Selvans celebrates the artistic heritage of his country with the cover of 'The Hanged Ballad' taken from the first Death SS' album and a cover medley of the legendary album 'Inferno' by Metamorfosi, a progressive italian rock band from the 70's.
This will be the first work in which Selvans is joined by his full live band, made of valid musicians who are with him since several years of concerts.
Learnt the lesson of the great masters of the horror and the absurd in music – with Screamin' Jay Hawkins and King Diamond above all – Selvans offers a decandent and peculiar interpretation which is brazenly Italian.
Walking among woods and ruins of ghost villages, Selvans leads a procession of outcasts hidden behind animal masks, on a muddy stage weaved with roots, whispering rituals of rural magic and cursed doggerels.

Inherits The Void is the musical endeavor of French multi-instrumentalist Antoine Scholtès. Born in 2020, the project based in Clermont-Ferrand released the Mémoires EP before starting to work on a proper full-length studio album.
Monolith Of Light hence marks Inherits The Void debut album, born from Scholtès’s desire for “a meeting between influences from the ‘90s Swedish Black Metal scene and a more current orientation of the genre”. Rage and melody entwine in these seven hymns to the transience of man, bringing to mind the great masterworks of Dissection, Dawn and Vinterland, as well as the more contemporary sounds of France.
Inherits The Void adds to their deep black metal roots, incorporating atmospheric hints from bands like Celeste, Déluge and Nesseria: “the main idea behind that album was to compose songs that would be both melodic and atmospheric, embraced by the desire to propose a range of various emotions”.

fter the reckless barbarity of 2017’s Poisoned Blood 12-inch, Portland’s Witch Vomit dig deeper into the ground than ever before, disinterring Buried Deep In A Bottomless Grave, their second full length torrent of skullbashing wormridden horror from beyond. On this new album the band moves toward perfecting the surgical fusion of the driving Scandinavian-style violence and subconscious terror they’ve previously established, and a now gore-obsessed smashing of their American forbears. Subtlety is abolished for savage attack, imprinted on the listener’s withering mind like an impulsive stab to the throat from a crazed stranger, while all the while a dreadful sense of eerie melody rings throughout the album. With the permanent addition of second guitarist C.L., Witch Vomit achieve heightened levels of primal regression and blood-soaked madness. Buried Deep In A Bottomless Grave is a deadly addition to their growing catalog of atrocity.
The idiosyncratic methodology of Portland’s Ænigmatum is instantly apparent from the whip-start blast of “Forged From Bedlam”, the opening track of their second album Deconsecrate. While the pace is frenetic, speed is never a crutch to be relied upon, but rather one deliberate device in a sprawling collection of melodically precise and technically riveting fragmented death shards. The eight songs on Deconsecrate constitute a labyrinthian structure of twisting nuanced complexity and intricate explosive chaos. Blood-freezing and incandescently beautiful at once, Ænigmatum temper their withering elaborate intensity with astonishingly elegant melodic passages carved into the mind, like towering marble hallucinations. Immersing in this album, one might be forgiven assuming they’d stumbled upon a lost obscurity of mid-90s Gothenburg, the dark harmonies, the dual guitars, the staggering rhythm section; but in fact Ænigmatum have bequeathed a startlingly ambitious paragon of mystifying esoteric death metal magnificence.
With 2012's "Aeons Black" standing as one of the defining death metal albums of the twenty-first century it has been a long wait for the follow up. In 2021, Sweden's Aeon finally return with its successor, "God Ends Here", and in doing so only up the ante with a record that is bigger, harder and stronger in every way. "I wasn't feeling any pressure after such a gap, we don't do shit half assed and I feel like this is our strongest album yet," states guitarist Zeb Nilsson. A darker, even more epic collection, it is everything an Aeon fan could want with a few surprises in store, pushing the genre in new directions and once again asserting that they are one of the most important bands in extreme metal.
Black 12" double vinyl (33 rpm) incl. bonus tracks "Her til evig tid (Ånd: Epilog)", "Vekst (Erindring: Prolog)" and "Shades from these wounds" in sturdy printed inner sleeves with 2 double-sided inserts in deluxe gatefold (with soft touch matt laminate). First pressing 500 copies worldwide.

Lys is the mastermind of Enisum, the well-known Italian atmospheric black metal band. After focusing on his main band for over a decade, the time came for the musician from Val di Susa to temporarily focus on something different. Here comes Silent Woods, Lys first solo album, a mélange of atmospheric black metal, acoustic music, nature, landscapes, mountains, rivers and forests.
Similar to yet different from his main musical endeavours, Silent Woods shows a varied sound palette, with the usual Enisum references (Agalloch, Wolves In The Throne Room and the Pacific Northwestern scene) and some twists. Acoustic guitars and clean vocals find their way in, and so do more extreme elements, such as gurgling screams and hypnotic, circular guitar riffs with clear depressive black metal references (Xasthur, Leviathan and the likes).
Come join Lys in his new venture through the woods of Northwestern Italy. Avantgarde Music will take you to the Alps on October 29th.
Gaahls WYRD, the eponymous brainchild of one of black metal’s most iconic and enigmatic figures, has returned with a hypnotic new EP! ‘The Humming Mountain’ follows the band’s critically-acclaimed debut album, ‘GastiR – Ghosts Invited,’ and sees the latest evolution of the esoteric dark metal project’s sound. The five song offering creeps in like a whispering demon, slowly entrancing the listener with its deep, dark gaze before it sinks its teeth in and drags you into the all-consuming abyss.
