Well then you´d have FURNACE´s "Dark Vistas". Comprised of members from Paganizer, Demiurg and Assassins Blade aswell as Cult of the Fox and Void Moon this Swedish outfit explores a new melodic death metal vista of sorts. Its still death metal but its also much more, delve deep into the Lovecraftian and cult riddled mythos of FURNACE with "Dark Vistas".

The Sorcerer’s Sorrow is Anachitis very debut, where obscure, minimal synths pave the way for obsessive guitar riffs and desperate shrieks recounting a tale of despair and self destruction. In Sloan’s words, “There is an underlying story here being told backwards of someone who desperately seeks answers to escape the pain of existence through esoteric practices, but finds nothing but a path to total self destruction”.

Translating into ‘otherworldly wrath’ or ‘wrath of the world beyond’, ‘Hinsides Vrede’ represents the doom of pre-historic cultures as well as our impending doom while the world is cracking at its seams. It is a furious assault upon the civilized world and a descent into the nether regions of the world beyond.

MÖRK GRYNING again found the synergy they had while writing their legendary debut record and return to their foundations by balancing melody with straightforward brutality. Yet, by striving to reinvent themselves with every record, the long-awaited comeback of the band is by no means a reiteration of a glorious musical past.
