Echoes Of Light is the newest album by CHAPEL OF DISEASE and is the outcome of an even deeper dive into the possibilities as a band when set free from any musical or genre-based boundaries. Recorded from October 2022 up to January 2023 at Q7 Studios with Michael Zech (THE RUINS OF BEVERAST, SECRET OF THE MOON) by the three founding members (Laurent T., Cedric T. and David D.), the outcome is a record that plays with many different moods and becomes a whole through uniting contrasts and forming them into one individual landscape of sound. Consisting of six songs, this album wants to take you on a journey to chase light, only to ultimately destroy it…

With their second album, “Satan Soldier of Fortune”, Departure Chandelier weave in reverse order the process of Napoleonic battlefield cleanup against self-coronation and the emperor’s ascent to deity whom profited off the fallen of both sides. While the dying are stripped naked to fertilize the countryside, boots and teeth are hurriedly taken for sale in Paris. Blood soaked coins fill the grave robber’s purse, the jangling song heard all the way to Notre Dame. Against the backdrop of the throne Illuminated by the bivouac fires, fallen men, horses and cannon wagons churn like twisted celtic knots across the sea of the battlefield as the coronation begins. Dressed in the gown of swarming Merovingian bees, a wreath of laurel arched above his skull, the Regent diamond flashes in the hilt of the Antichrist’s saber encrusted on the gold scepter – rising in his hand, yet unable to support the weight of Charlemagne’s crown. What is dark if Lucifer’s light? Compositionally wild but rich in melody, the band’s unique combination of perched guitars and impending choral keyboards beneath raw unhinged vocals spearheading lyrics of existential rebellion captures the necro sound of old French black metal. The arrangements are shorn of needless complexity, yet greater than the sum of their parts purportedly recorded on the same 4-track with the old distortions and synths used on ‘Antichrist Rise To Power’ now immortalized on their Occult Antiquities imprint. After the success of Antichrist Rise To Power original release in 2019 on Nuclear War Now! Productions with over ten subsequent pressings the band felt there should be a official French version with complete text translation and expanded layout on the most cult label from France - Osmose Production

Antichrist Rise to Power is a violent declaration of allegiance to the Emperor’s dominion, from the mud-covered skeletons of Marengo to the jagged cliffs of St. Helena. The noble acceptance of forced exile, the inescapable chill of the prison cell, and the cruel rush of combat all fill the aristocrat’s appetite for his boundless quest for honor. 

Departure Chandelier’s music shimmers with the aesthetic ardor of apotheosis. It is a communion with the deceased, tracing the pathway of life transmuted into death over dishonor. Although comprised of members of Akitsa and Ash Pool, Departure Chandelier is wholly unique in style and substance and bears little overt resemblance to either of those projects.

INFESTDEAD's “Satanic Serenades” unites all recordings by this Swedish death metal act led by Dan Swanö (Witherscape, ex-Edge Of Sanity, ex-Bloodbath), including the long deleted late 90's albums expanded with EP and demo material.

Legendary Swedish vocalist/multi-instrumentalist/producer Dan Swanö is perhaps best known for his work with Edge Of Sanity, Nightingale, Bloodbath, and recently Witherscape. Active since the early '90s, his career runs much deeper than this revered quartet, having produced seemingly countless bands from across the metal spectrum (Opeth, Dissection, Katatonia, Asphyx to name just a few) as well as launching or taking part in side projects including Moontower, Odyssey, Pan.Thy.Monium or Infestdead. The latter formed in 1993 and released two albums – “Hellfuck” (1997) and “Jesusatan” (1999) – plus EP/split releases.
From the debut EP “Killing Christ”, vocalist Dread (Tormented, ex-Marduk) and Dan had only one goal in mind: to create classic US inspired death metal like Deicide, Morbid Angel etc.!
The result was astonishing and in its remastered fashion sounds even more convincing and is blessed by Swanö's incredible songwriting talent. Even if it's just plain and violent death metal, Mr Swanö turns everything he touches into amazing music, be it prog or unholy extreme metal!
“Satanic Serenades” is an official 40+ tracks anthology release of the entire INFESTDEAD catalogue that now shall haunt the holy again!
