After the success and lasting impact of their debut 2022 full-length, Where the Shadows Adorn, Indianapolis melodic death-doom purveyors Mother of Graves return to the surface with a new and prolific dose of melancholy.
The Periapt of Absence, set to be unleashed by the esteemed Profound Lore Records, serves as a testament to Mother of Graves' evolutionary journey and steadfast dedication to crafting their profoundly personal and enthralling rendition of death-doom metal.
Highlighted by Brandon Howe's soul crushing and poetic vocals, this offering transcends boundaries, delving even deeper into realms of melancholy and introspection than their past offerings. The album expands on Mother of Graves' engrossing atmospheres, crushing passages that shine light on their death metal roots, monumental hooks, and melodies that will resonate for years to come. The crushing production, provided by the band's Ben Sandman with dynamic mastering by the legend Dan Swanö, amplifies the monumental rhythm section anchored by Don Curtis on drums and Corey Clark on bass, while illuminating the intricate guitar harmonies skillfully woven by guitarists Sandman and Chris Morrison.
The Periapt of Absence is without a doubt their most in depth and significant material to date. Each song provides a poignant exploration of the human experience, where moments of despair are illuminated by glimmers of hope and fleeting beauty. Through eight cathartic tales of heartache, love, and loss, Mother of Graves beckons you to delve deep into the recesses of their dark and gloomy world.

Dimbild emerged as an semi acoustic side project of the renowned musician Vintersorg in 2022, embracing the folky side of his journey in its full context and keeping the intense metal compositions associated with the main act outside. It’s something that has been growming for years but in 2022 it came into its own shape.
Departing from the relentless energy of metal, Dimbild has a more subdued and introspective approach to music-making.
The project allow Vintersorg to explore a different facet of his artistic expression, delving further deeper into the realms of folk and acoustic music with a hint of melancholy woven into its fabric.
Drawing inspiration from nature, mythology, and existential themes, Dimbild’s music transports listeners to otherworldly landscapes where emotions intertwine with the sounds of acoustic guitars, percussion, and the trade-mark vocals of Vintersorg. The name “Dimbild,” which translates to “dim image” or ” Illusion” in English, encapsulates the project’s enigmatic essence, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in its atmospheric allure.
The semi-acoustic arrangements provides a platform for Vintersorg’s evocative storytelling and introspective lyricism to shine, resonating with listeners on a deeply personal level. Dimbild incorporates elements from various musical traditions and experimenting with different sonic textures. It solidifies its place as a compelling force in the realm of acoustic music.
As a result of Vintersorg’s continous journey to explore new musical horizons, Dimbild is a testament to the creativity and artistic depth of its creator, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of acoustic music. Buckle up for a unique blend of scandinavian melodies and ethereal atmospheres with a touch of epicness.
"Through Sun and Stone'' covers the topic of loss and fate in a stoic approach. The mythology of "The Three Fates" Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos guides the album into a humble, concise journey through loss, grief and life beyond death. Following the loss of a close friend, Abyssielle evokes on this album a world beyond the grave on a cosmic level, beyond the conflict and strife of our current world. Ethereal nuances, black metal soundscapes and pulsating post-punk bass lines create the balance between melancholy and intensity.
One-off edition in 200 copies, translucent red vinyl, not to be repressed
While writing their upcoming album (due later this year), Remina ended up with three songs that no longer fit the album's themes as it began to take shape. Rather than let these songs become lost in the ether, these were gathered in a brand new ep, "Erebus".
Initially released digitally only in June 2024, the ep found a huge success and pushing us to offer the band a one-off only edition on vinyl and cd.
