Barren Canyon, the reclusive Canadian act formed by the mysterious duo of multi-instrumentalists Maikan and Absent, re-emerge with A Virulent Steam, their second release for Avantgarde Music after eight years of silence. Whereas 2018’s World of Wounds contrasted bursts of metal with cold ambient passages, Barren Canyon now return transformed, melding their influences into a tempered miasmic haze. Warmer synth tones drift and swell like a toxic fog, diffusing into harsher textures.
Taking the idea of “atmospheric metal” seriously and literally, A Virulent Stream draws both musically and lyrically upon themes of noxious air, suffocation, and the airborne contaminants of industrial society. The very cover picture is a statement in itself, as the band chose “Smoke from the continuously operating steel plants gives Birmingham its
spectacular nighttime red-orange glow” by Leroy Woodson to visually introduce their opus.

Old Sorcery is a dungeon synth / black metal project from Lahti, Finland, born in 2017 from the ever-creative mind of Juuso “Vrajitor” Peltola (Warmoon Lord, Argenthorns, Vrajitor’s Tenebrarium and many more), which is now in the middle of a trilogy of releases shared between labels Out Of Season and Avantgarde Music.
The Outsider is the second part of this fantasy concept, which here blends dungeon synth with the more atmospheric and escapist part of black metal.
Over 70 minutes long, The Outsider is a real journey through fabled lands and mysteries unknown.

Kanonenfieber's debut Menschenmühle has been one of the self-produced highlights of early 2021. With its mature songwriting and uncommon thematic approach, the album is intended to commemorate the countless victims of World War I.
Men were thrown into a differing reality where only survival would count. Death, fear and hunger as a steady companion in the waist-deep trenches filled with mud. One order transferred people into cannon fodder in the human mill - World War I. The lyrical background of Menschenmühle is based on factual reports, letters and other documents from the surviving and deceased soldiers. The album was written, recorded and produced by Kanonenfieber from September 2020 to January 2021 in the Noisebringer studio.

Horned Lord Of The Thorned Castle is a perfect combination of the atmosphere from Piercing Through the Frozen Eternity and the rawness of Nightwind: The Conqueror from the Stars, the band’s two EPs released in 2022 and early 2023.
Moonlight Sorcery wants to raise the bar, and these new nine songs have even more melodic hooks and shreddy guitar work. Frozen synth walls further develop the Finnish trio’s unique sound, a vibe you cannot find in any other black metal record.

Between 2022 and 2025 the band focused on live activities, playing a number of prime festivals and shows such as Frantic Fest, Brutal Assault, Stige Fest, several European tours with Artificial Brain and Ad Nauseam and supported bands like Beherit, Necrot, Suffering Hour and many more…
Combining influences from bands like Timeghoul, Blood Incantation, Voivod and Incantation in a unique, bizarre and twisted vortex, the Italian quartet is now ready to celebrate its tenth year of existence with their sophomore studio record, self-titled Devoid Of Thought.
From outer world graves, where stars go to die and the effigies of distant planets are found, the portal has now opened toward a quantum leap, placed at the incipit of the end. The panspermic biodome is a colorful multiverse, awash in stellar life and boiling with transformation. Time here represents an entropic euphoria and is no longer a mortal clock. From a putrescent mire, a new form of life is born, endowed with an unprecedented shell, different from that of any known species.
